No one cares, feel free to die/become infected, just don't make a scene.

If you're going to die while I eat, go to the bathroom.

Agreed, otherwise I'll have to go after your widow to pay for my meal.

I havent read the whole thread but this is ridiculous.. I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for about 10 years. I use an insulin pen. It looks like a ball point pen( a little bigger ) . It also uses separate screw on needles. I can inject myself with insulin under the table while carrying a conversation and no one will ever know what I am doing. It would seem offputting and odd to me if someone was making a production of injecting themselves but even having to use a syringe can be done quickly and discreetly .

Good chance it was my dad, he's been doing that for years. He's thinks he's being all sly, but as he's gotten older, he's less smooth at doing it

Injecting may be gross for some people, they better get used to it. With the too often poor NA diet, more and more people will be injecting. More and more people injecting will certainly result in more diabetics injecting in public settings.

Lol that reminds me of the little girl in Synechdoche NY.
(Paraphrased)
'I have blood? I don't want blood! No! No! No!'
'That's ok dear, you don't have blood.'
'I don't really think we should be telling her she doesn't have blood.'

They type of people who have poor diet and very overweight are usually type 2 and not insulin dependent .

As a type 1 diabetic myself, there have been times where I've had to inject insulin in public. I used to go to the bathroom and do it, but I started feeling like I was a drug junkie. That, and some kid gave me this weird look like I was doing something wrong when I walked out of the bathroom stall after injecting my insulin this one time.
Now, I just inject right at the table. However, it's not like I take off my shirt to inject. I just lift a little corner, inject the insulin, and I'm done in 5 seconds. Since I also have to test my blood sugar before injecting my insulin, I try and do that so nobody can really see. That takes all but 5 seconds. 10 seconds total, give or take, and I'm done.

I'd rather the guy do it at the table than the bathroom. Even if the bathroom is cleaned, I still don't trust it's cleanliness.

Honestly, if you don't like it, don't look at it. Simple as that. Find something else to look at. Usually the waitresses at those restaurants have really nice buns.

Holy crap some of you take your insulin seriously. This seems rather simple. If nickerjones is to be believed this is a 5 second process that you can sneak in and is no issue. If so well then go to town. If as the OP said this was a 90 second process involving old school needles then yeah, you need to take that to the bathroom. Medical condition or not busting out the black tar heroin kit at the dinner table is just poor form. Have some basic manners, this isn't rocket appliances.

I hate it when people complain about things that have exactly zero effect on their life. things like breast feeding in public, second hand smoke or whatever. Seriously, how much can somebody injecting insulin matter in the grand scheme of things? I know the OP is just generating discussion just saying.

Couldn't have been easier to not see it. Over 2 hours he had to do it at least 10+ times. Superfast each time, so easy to never see it. It would have been hugely inconvenient to go to the washroom, I think he had to pee more because of it as well so he was going alot.
Just blows me away that anyone would get offended by that. Never even occurred to me, my only worry was that I was staring at the kit and offending him.

I don't know if the fact that YOU weren't offended by something really helps an argument. Has anything ever offended you?

Fotze was offended by something in a thread once. I forget exactly what it was about, but it was hilarious seeing that happen.
