Video Card problem?

So I have a relatively new computer that has always run pretty well, but lately I'm having a problem with some things showing up on the screen. When I open Excel once in a while, for example, some cells show up as gibberish and some don't show up at all. Of course it's not happening right now so I can't take a screen shot, but next time it does, I will.

Any suggestions anyone has for me to test whether it's working properly or not?

It's a 768MB eVGA GeForce GTX-460.

Try a game, or Furmark. If that doesn't cause it but Excel does, I'd have a hard time believing that it's a video card issue.

Here's an example of what it's doing in the browser window on the right. A bunch of crazy flashing shapes.

Well assuming that's a screen grab and not a photo, then we can at least rule out your monitor.

You could try rivaTuner and see what your temps are (Furmark - free download - will give you these too and is also a good stress test). If they're too high, try running with your case open and/or checking your card for dust.

If your card is well-ventilated and running hot, it could be dieing.

Try a driver update as well. You'd be surprised how messed up a set of drivers can be.

If you know how, try to downclock your videocard's core and memory and see if the problem goes away. If so, then the problem is the videocard.
