Not really surprised. Edmonton's just fighting back from those horrible Rider signs they put up in opposition cities in advance of Rider away games. I'm laughing though because Eskimo fan support at the Labour Day Classic has been extremely muted compared to a generation ago. The past few Labour Day Classics have only had a scattering of their fans in McMahon compared to the entire section they used to take up. The rivalry just isn't the same and part of it is that the Eskimos fans have been pretty fair weathered.

Whoever sold them that advertising space has no morals. Or doesn't give two craps about sports. I don't care how much they're paying you, you can't let an arch rival put up a billboard trashing your own team at your team's own stadium. You just can't. They should be embarassed.
Its the same as that chick running Flames Central last spring who thought itd be cool to make it all pro-Vancouver for the playoffs. This is what happens when non-sports fans are put in charge of sports-related venues. They just end up making complete asses of themselves, whether they realize it or not (probably not, because they're idiots, and clearly phony sports fans).
Man that stuff grinds my gears, you'd NEVER see that happen in the States.

I think decorating a private facility like FC (although that never happened but I digress) is much worse than purchasing ad space.
Most billboards in Calgary are run by Pattison AFAIK and I can't see why they'd be overly concerned. It is entirely possibel that the person responsible for booking the ad space isn't even based out of Calgary. For all we know they are based in Edm or TO.
I certainly think it does reflect poorly on the company, in terms of their image in Calgary, for doing so though. Although maybe they don't care? It is all in good fun afterall.
Perhaps the recent violence at NFL games in the States and the fact that you said that the billboard would never happen in the US is a sign that they take their sports a little too seriously.
On the Fan this morning they made this very point. The CFL is all about good natured rivalries and the "our league" mentality. I just hope this doesn't cause any undue violence towards EE fans, however unlikely, because they probably had nothing to do with the billboard.

Awesome! I always love hearing ex-Stampeders doing well in the NFL. I am not a huge NFL fan but I would watch some of the Seahawk games this season just to see how BB is doing (when he makes the team). Actually I used to watch the Raiders game before they moved to LA then back to Oakland. I also used to watch Doug Flutie when he was with Buffalo, Jeff Garcia in San Fran and Philly and even Dickerson in San Diego.

DL Tom Johnson just made the New Orleans Saints. That's awesome!! It's sucks that the Stamps lost Johnson but I am happy that he made the NFL.

Al Cameron is reporting that Calgary's experiment with Washington at OT is over. This guy was fun to see out there as he is monstrous in size compared to the rest of the line but he was completely out of his realm. Our section would call out his #60 and be right most times when we saw a flag thrown due to movement before the snap.

As expected, it appears the Stamps will make a change at left tackle for Friday night’s Labour Day Classic rematch at Commonwealth Stadium. Rookie Tony Washington, who’d been struggling the past couple games, will surely take a seat, while Edwin Harrison comes off the nine-game injured list to take the spot he was projected to take when Ben Archibald signed a free-agent deal with the B.C. Lions.
So the Stamps finally get to the unit they were hoping to have from Day 1: from left to right, Harrison, Steve Myddelton, Tim O’Neill, Dimitri Tsoumpas and Stanley Bryant. It’s important to keep this group together, and it’s worth noting that this will be the fifth different group of O-line starters the Stamps have put on the field through 10 games.

Tackle is a tough position for OLine because you have to deal with either a fast DLine or a fast LB most of the time. This is his first season so I wouldn't give up on the guy just yet. He was good the first 2 games so there is definitely potential. Harrison was awful in his first few games for the Stamps last season but once he got used to his position he gets better and even won the rookie of the year award.
Whatever happen to Tim O'Neill? Jon Gott did a superb job as a center against the Eskies. O'Neill struggled a bit with some errand snaps. I wonder if he will be back against BC or permanently lose the starting centre position to Gott.
Former Eskimos first round pick 2010 DL Brian Bulcke signed with the Stamps this weekend and will be suiting up against the BC Lions on Saturday. I haven't seen this guy play yet. He must be good that the Eskies picked him in a 1st round in 2010. He will definitely help because we are pretty thin on non-import DLine.

Coker and Cornish taking all the first team reps at practice today in Moncton. Reynolds watching on the sideline.

At this stage I don't mind seeing Cornish stepping into the number 1 role. Reynolds just seems to be turning into a 2-3 yard guy whereas Cornish is finding ways to break for those 10-15 yard runs.

Sounds like the end is nearing which is sad but professional sports doesn't look back for anyone. If Coker plays it will be interesting to see what he can do as if he lights it up it probably means Reynolds won't be back in the lineup any time soon.

Huff confirmed this morning that both Reynolds and Claybrooks are out for tomorrow's game. Davis replaces Claybrooks while Coker comes off practice squad for Reynolds. Changing of the guard? Just sending a message to 2 vets? Combination of both?
*EDIT: The Claybrooks change might be a ratio change.

Reynolds doesn't have the same initial burst. He has depended on that because he is not quick in the second level. Cornish has second level speed but doesn't have the bruising ability behind the line if there is no hole. If Cornish has a gap he is gone for 20+ yards. Coker is a average sized rb but is ellusive, so we will see on sunday.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats acquired defensive back Milt Collins from the Calgary Stampeders on Monday.
The Ticats also picked up a fifth-round draft pick in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft.
In return, Hamilton sent non-import linebacker Jaden Wagner and a fourth-round pick in 2013 to Calgary.
Collins, a six-foot-one, 180-pound American, has 86 defensive tackles, eight interceptions and three sacks in 47 games with Calgary, where he captured a Grey Cup with Calgary in 2008.
Wagner was selected 44th overall by Hamilton at this year's Canadian Draft. The Lethbridge, Alta., native had 38 tackles and one sack in 12 games with the Brigham Young Cougars last year.
