Some of the victims of Olsons speak about the news.

Quote:
“I’ve waited 30 years for this,” said mother Terry Bizeau, whose daughter Terri Lyn Carson, 15, was strangled by the notorious child killer during his reign of terror across southern British Columbia three decades ago. "Once he is dead, justice will be done."
Quote:
Dee Johnston, whose 13-year-old step-daughter Colleen Daignault was also killed added: “You raise (children) believing that you don’t wish him any harm, you don’t wish him dead, but deep down in our guts we do want him dead."
Quote:
“Once the cancer has metastasized. It could be in the brain, it could be in the bones, it could be in the pancreas – but once it has metastasized that’s the final stages,” Rosenfeldt said Wednesday.

“It has been most confusing to me as to how I’m supposed to feel,” said Rosenfeldt.
And some past quotes from the monster himself...

Quote:
"My remorse was when I pleaded guilty," Olson said in Nov. 2010 interview. "All these parents whining and crying and using my parole as a platform ... f--- 'em. Get over it."

"What good is money to me? I got no use for it, if you get what I'm getting at. I guess I gotta make a will in case I get a heart attack or something.
Don't want these #######s getting my money," Olson said in a March 2010 interview about receiving Old Age Security.

"Most serial killers I know should never be paroled. That's just my opinion," Olson said in 2006.
"John, your (sic) a little late in reintroducing your private member's bill the faint hope clause. Soory (sic) sucker: Smile now," Olson wrote in a April 1996 letter to Toronto MP John Nunziata, who tried to repeal Section 745 of the Criminal Code, which allows convicted murderers to apply for freedom after 15 years of a life sentence. "The Beast of British Columbia Im (sic) coming back home August 12, 1996 and Not a f---ing thing you can do."
The guy is a real piece of work. Hard to understand that IF the state had been able to execute him and ended up doing so, how it would be considered "barbaric".

I wouldn't argue against the death penalty on the grounds that it's barbaric, I'd argue against it given that having a death penalty makes the assumption that the justice system is flawless and people (Jurors) do not make mistakes in judgement.

A lot of serial killers are compulsive killers who want to get stopped.

Dahlmer was just plain damaged, Bundy was a brilliant guy, and he knew that he was doing wrong, he just couldn't stop. Chikitalo (sp?) in Russia was a true monster who had no human feelings, but in the end when he confessed it was because deep down, he felt some guilt.

Olson has stylized himself after Charles Manson, in that he wants to be a rock star. The difference being that for the most part, Manson didn't want to get his hands dirty. Olson wants the attention, so to an effect he wanted to in the end get caught. He wants the celebrity status. But the difference between him and the other killers above, is he just never cared, he had no humanity in him whatsoever, he throught that his victims were sub human objects.

I remember reading a study on schizo's. They captured and jailed one guy who had killed his mother, killed her boyfriend, they put him away and he murdered his cellmate. When they interviewed him, he couldn't connect his victims to be human. It didn't upset him at all on any level. Then they told him his dog had died and he completely broke down.

The way Olson went on a spree and killed so many in such a short time, I can't imagine that he thought he would get away with it. I used to think he was just dumb to not let the heat blow over between kills, but now I agree that he wanted the attention. Then the way he extorted $150,000 to give up the locations of some of the bodies, that was just sick.

Olson also managed to send them letters -- one on the fifth anniversary of finding Daryn's tortured body -- describing in graphic detail how he drove nails and screwdrivers into young Daryn's skull, while asking him how it felt. Then he described how he bashed the teen's brain in with a hammer after raping the lad in British Columbia.
"He wrote to tell us Daryn's last words and how he died. Daryn simply asked, 'Why are you doing this to me?' "

But you don't think that "man" should die because its barbaric? Reading that quote made me physically sick. As a father, if someone did that to my son, I'd flip the switch or whatever myself.

From the link:

Quote:
And Olson has done his darndest to hurt the Rosenfeldts. He once sued the grieving couple for calling him a pedophile, because, as Olson said, he had never been convicted of pedophilia, "just the murder of 11 children." The Rosenfeldts actually had to hire a lawyer, who thankfully did not charge them for his services, but Olson had his lawyer paid for by the state.
That is just disgraceful.

They should have opened up his skull and done exploritory surgery on his brain while he was concious to see what made him what he was.

One can hope that he's dead. The sad thing is we're going to be on the hook for his funeral.

Fact is they should throw him into a ditch and let the bears feed on him, but they probably wouldn't be able to stomach the scumbag

Well if Dante was right then Olson is in the 7th circle of hell.

Outer ring: This ring houses the violent against people and property, who are immersed in Phlegethon, a river of boiling blood and fire, to a level commensurate with their sins: Alexander the Great is immersed up to his eyebrows, although Dante praises Alexander at other points in the poem, meaning he might be referring to a different Alexander. Dionysius I of Syracuse, Azzolino da Romano, Guy de Montfort, Obizzo d'Este, Ezzelino III da Romano, Rinier da Corneto, and Rinier Pazzo are also seen in the Phlegethon as well as references to Atilla the Hun. The Centaurs, commanded by Chiron and Pholus, patrol the ring, shooting arrows into any sinners who emerge higher out of the river than each is allowed. The centaur Nessus guides the poets along Phlegethon and across a ford in the widest, shallowest stretch of the river (Canto XII). This passage may have been influenced by the early medieval Visio Karoli Grossi.[27]

Well personally, I'd rather be shot with arrows than be eyebrow deep in boiling blood and fire.

I'd get out of that pool. Shooting arrows ftw.

Dante's Inferno is full of all kinds of nifty punishments. Pretty much everyone goes to Hell or that suck hole of purgatory.

Apparently anyone who disagrees with the Sun's wording of Olson's death is labeled a supporter of child killers. Ridiculous.
