I think Pokerstars is legit. They had their finances in order and got everyone their money back relatively quickly.
If I went back to online poker though, I'd go with Party Poker as they are a publicly traded company, which gives a little more security.

I just could never get over PP's terrible interface and graphics.

If you can't beat a run-of-the-mill poker bot, you have no business playing at all.

But hey, like I say, if it's rigged, it's rigged in my favour!

Wow, you sound like a really good poker player. I'm glad you shared that with us, I would have never known how awesome you were...and humble, too. Just an all around amazing person.

Honestly, this was like 5 years ago, and I am not 100% for certain, but I am pretty sure it was pokerroom.com, or one of the other sites that went down.

It has been so long since I played online, I really don't know the current landscape, who is in business etc. Either way, I think it is naive to think that the games aren't rigged in some way.

Actually, I'm extremely aware of my shortcomings as a poker player, which are many. Chief among these is my near debilitating risk-averseness which hasn't allowed me to play higher than NL500.

FYI I've played on over eighty different sites and played millions of hands over the past seven years online. That says nothing of my success or futility, but it says I at least have a hint about what I'm talking about.

Did you play in the Home games? I need to get that going again, it kind of died with everyone's different schedules and this FTP scam.

Ya, just about time to fire that up again as its starting to get into my poker playing months.

On another note not to derail thread or anything but does anybody play in the Deerfoot Tournys on the Sunday's? I'm contemplating making the drive for some this winter if it's usually a good turnout and there is potential to make some money.

If you go to a poker forum, that's how all online players talk.

Awww, cut them some slack - it's just nerds living large. 25 years ago these kids would have been playing D&D and Ultima. I for one am extremely jealous - why couldn't have I been born 20 years later? I would be an online poker millionaire by now. |
