Has anyone figured out how to change your strategies during the opening cut scenes just before you start a game online?

I can't believe they took that out.

Now you've got to rush it and change it all on the fly when the puck drops. Not a massive deal, just a piss off.

Game froze up on me once but I can't remember what I was doing. It's typical of EA to release buggy games.

How can we change player types? I remember in 11 it was under the Coaching options but it seems to be gone now?

My favorite addition so far is that they've now included my actual name for the play-by-play announcers. Has never been in the game before.

i gave up a penalty shot while shorthanded, in which the computer didn't score, bumped the goalie and took a penalty.. best penalty shot ever! no goal, and it goes to 4 v 4 instead of being shorthanded after

Mine has froze I think 3 times now. I haven't even been playing it very often either. Hopefully they can get an update on xbox and fix some of this freezing.

Haven't playing in a few years, but just picked this up and have noticed there is now a focus on board play. Pretty much anytime the computer starts to rub me out along the boards, it's almost a guarantee he will get the puck. What can I do counter this?

click the RB button (poke check button) while you are pinned to try to jar the puck loose. it's usually a 50/50 play, though the defender (in the respective zzone) is usually given a higher probability to come out with the puck.

You can change them before you start when you are in the edit line screen. If you forget, like I do half the time, once the puck is dropped, hit start and you can do it from there, rather than trying to do them on the fly.

Why they don't just save to what you want them to be I have no idea.

You can kick (using the pass button) the puck to the right, left or behind you, or you can switch to control a teammate and try to either poke the puck loose or get in position for a pass.

I got the game for PS3 this time around instead of Xbox, I find it quite slow when loading but smooth during game play, but it has froze on me once.

I find the board play has come together pretty well now. In one of my first games I managed to kick the puck behind me to a streaking Giordano who got a good chance on goal. It was a sweet looking play.

Anyone had the problem where they literally CANNOT play season mode because the game Crashes during simulating off-days EVERY TIME? The game is kinda ruined for me until they fix that..

Holy crap, how many packs did you have to go through to get a great team like that? After all my starter packs and one jumbo pack, my only 2 decent players are Bryan Little and Matt Halischuk.

I've picked up a few players on the cheap from trading, and spent about $8 on packs.

I guess I've gotten lucky, I got one pack with pucks that had about 5 of those guys at once.

yes.

i have stopped playing offline due to this .

my 2 big beefs with the game are:
1) Freezing offline season simming

2) as in previous game, if i'm playing an OFFLINE hut tournament game, i will disconnect from ea servers 50% of the time, causing me to lose the game, disqualify from the tournament, lose a game from all contracts on my roster, and serve a penalty by getting less pucks in the future. why the hell is EA connection required for offline hut game play? stupid design by ea.
