agreed. If I want another thread about same sex marriage and rights, then I'd look in one of the 80000 that have happened on point.

I'd like a thread on the pc leadership race - can we go back to that?

It's a slippery slope argument. Whether I believe churches should have to marry anyone is irrelevant to whether marriage commissioners (who perform civil unions, not religious ceremonies) should be allowed to discriminate.

It's not my fear you're appealing to, it's the fear of your WRA supporters.

Wow, Mar is blowing away the competition. I doubt he will get 50% tonight, but it might be close enough to see the others concede.

What site are you getting info from? I have the Herald chat but thats it....and that is just painful to read through. The PC results site isn't working for me at all.

Kind of surprised there is no TV coverage at all? The media has really dropped the ball on this one....

Results are in video here: http://fusedlogic.tv/pc-election-results/

Mar has way over 50% in the first 5 polls.

EDIT: Actually, just under 50%, but the others are quits split. So, he is really dominating over 2nd place.

By the way, I started yet another thread on same sex marriage for the debate to continue over there, on exactly how progressive each party is or is not. Feel free to take it over there.

Actually, the first five ridings have Mar just below 50%.

I realize this is a strange request, but I can't get any of the live streaming. Could someone post the results here as they come, preferably by riding?

I'm also shocked it isn't on tv somewhere. That's just brutal. It isn't like this could be about the next premier of the province or anything......

Any radio?

Yeah, when I saw that he nearly had 4x over second place (Redford), I figured he easily had more than 50%. But on second glance, it is just under 50%.

that would bode well for the WR, as Morton and Orman are the two most fiscally conservative.

No chance Mar fails to win if these results hold. Even if he doesn't get 50% tonight, he would on a second ballot.

Or it's bad, because it shows that Albertans want somebody more moderate.

I'm still baffled how this can be done and still called democracy.

Someone may be the new leader of Alberta tonight and the only people who can decide who it will be are ones who PAID for a membership. It's like paying to vote. I completely disagree with this entire premise. There should be a General Election, not just an appointment of the new Party leader to the existing post.

I will try to cut & paste some from Twitter.

Bad news for @Morton4Premier - Gary Mar beats him 358 to 114 in Cardston-Taber-Warner. He won that riding easily in 2006. #pcldr

Redford took Calgary North Hill by a small margin.

Redford has a slight edge on Mar in Calgary - North Hill (I think it was 156 to 151, but I have a horrible short term memory)
