Looks like Eastbound lanes on Glenmore are open again.

Its is traffic fine.

I used to do it when i was younger ... i would haul my hockey equipment with me so I could say i was playing at the arena there. Now i wonder if you could use the casino excuse.

DONT STOP though.

Not dangerous at all.. However, I do not think i would want to stop and see if something happens.

Take Anderson out past 24th Ave SW.... turn right on Weaselhead road and follow it until you hit the Casino.

I have gone through a few times and twice was I stopped. The casino trick worked going one way while the second time the guy just warned me and let me through. Won't try again as he said he was adding me to a warned list. Whether is exists or not I do not know.

They should just build that into a toll road.

Anyone drive by Glenmore as of late? Is it worth trying to get home wesbound Glenmore, or the slower route of going through the city

Trying to get from Blackfoot & 42nd to Coach Hill

I drove through there once from school. When we got to the other side (anderson), there was a guy (maybe a reserve cop, couldn't tell) sitting on a lawn chair. He got up and put his hand out for us to stop. We did, so he pulled out a flashlight and turned it on in the middle of a sunny afternoon. We couldn't hold our laughter in as he started flashing it in our windows to look inside the car.

I can't quite remember how it ended, as it was few years ago, but basically he just mumbled some words about it being illegal and I just kind of nodded my head and drove off.

They've started enforcing the no trespassing on that road. I have a buddy who got a $500 fine for shortcutting.
I always figured I'd say I was heading to the casino if I was going north, or say I was going to the gas station if I was going south... They now have a sign at the south entrance that forbids honkeys (and everyone else not native) to use Weaselhead Rd to get to the casino.

For awhile last summer they had a checkstop at the corner of Weaselhead Road and whatever the road is that comes from the gas station (Bull Head Rd?). They don't acutally issue you the fine, it's a mandatory court appearance (in real court in Calgary) and the judge decides what your fine will be.

Basically, the days of using that road as a shortcut are over (unless you wanna risk a big fine). Too many people know about it and started using it, and the reserve got pissed off.

FFS. So basically everyone else ruined it for me.

Just drove thru and hour ago and it seems to be back to normal (aka rush hour levels of traffic). In fact, I got home faster then usual

How is that fine enforceable? is it kind of like an Impark parking ticket? if you don't pay then they take you to civil court?

That was my first thought as well. Aren't hazardous goods banned from the causeway?

Only class 6 dangerous goods are prohibited over the reservoir.

Class 6 poisonous (toxic) and infectious substances

Hope everyone is okay.
I passed by minutes after it happened just as a Calgary Transit driver was extinguishing the flames. There were already people aiding the occupants so I kept going. The car that hit the pole was a newer (E92) 3 Series BMW and the car on fire was a Silver Kia Rio. I saw no 911 nor a 3rd vehicle for that matter.

The car on the pole was a Carrera 4s, according to the tow truck driver on the scene.

There will be pictures posted later tonight in the beyond.ca: tow of the week thread.
