Check out a Hutterite...
Colony, they love to show off their stuff and are usually very welcoming. The kids can learn all aspects of agriculture and most adults would find it all very interesting as well.
Just remembered that their lifestyle may not be what the Girl Guides are all about.

I second checking out a Hutterite colony, it will be very interesting, they are some of the kindest people I know, and you need to pick up some bread and a chicken while you are out there, because you haven't had a real chicken until you've had a Hutterite Chicken.

Country lane farms sends emails for tours from time to time. They are a free range or organic or some kinda fancy chicken place. Tasty stuff I might add.

Sundgaard Poultry Farm in Standard might be able to help you out too. That is an hour drive east of Calgary.
"The chicken houses total 50,000 square feet and have capacity for roughly 80,000 birds. There are six or seven production cycles per year, and between cycles, the houses are cleaned and disinfected. They produce roughly half a million broilers a year."
They also operate a mixed grain farm.
Trent Sundgaard would be the main contact, or else Don Sungaard.

I'm not sure if this is the type of farm you had in mind, but Groupon is offering a deal on Eagle Creek Farms. It's the Bowden sun maze and pumpkin picking. Check it out. http://www.groupon.com/deals/eagle-c...49e2d9c9795fb4

You could try RASTA in de Winton.
http://rastarescue.org/
It is a farm animal sanctuary. Lucie Priest owns/runs it.

My grandma had an unnatural hate for Hutterites and their chickens. She used to say 'put a rock and the chicken in the oven at the same time, when you can put a fork into the rock - the chicken has another hour'
