Bose Headphones - Real or Fake?
My friend has a pair of Bose IE2 earbuds and let me test them out today and they are by far the best ear buds I have ever worn. The sound is unreal. So I went on EBay and the only IE2s for sale were these.
Do you think these are fake or the real deal? For 51.99 its a steal but I'm not paying for the brand I'm paying for the sound.

The item location is from China. The land of the fake! But if they are the best quality you have ever heard might not be a bad deal to try out.

Can't really go wrong for that price.
They seem real enough though. The guy has 100% feedback on 58 sales.
The earbuds are amazing. I have yet to find anything that compares. Amazing sound, and they never fall out because of the cool thing that goes up into the upper part of your ear.

Well, if they are fake then yes; paying $50 for a $10 pair of headphones is wrong in my book.
Bust Buy sometimes puts them on for $90; I'd wait for a sale.

Future shop had a pair on for 79.99 last week unfortunately I didn't read the flyer until today and coincidentally the sale ended September 8.

If you're paying for the sound and not the name, then why you'd buy something with BOSE stamped on it is beyond me.

What's the best brand then? I tried the Bose today and they were fantastic. I don't know how much better you can get with that sound quality. But, I'm new to the headphone thing so I haven't compared brands yet. What else is out there?

I'm in a similar situation myself. I've been using a pair of noise isolating headphones by Shure and have loved them. I'd like to get a new pair just for kicks and other than the highly marketed brands like Bose or Monster, I would really like to hear some suggestions from the audiophiles out there in and around the $150 range.

Not a fan of these Bose. They do not cancel any noise, like normal earbuds do. It is more a speaker that is directed in the ear, but doesn't fit snug IN the canal - which means I have to turn everything wayyyyy up when in a noisy environment. GREAT quality sound in a quiet environment, but sucks for a plane.

You don't have to spend big money on headphones or earbuds to get great sound, but know what you're buying. BOSE gets by with aggressive marketing, they're not noted for sound quality by people seek out such things professionally.

I go with these guys. Best value guaranteed:
http://www.meelec.com/
The headphones regulalry go on sale too. You can usually find a good pair for undre $30 including shipping.
Unless you are an audiophile who needs $200+ earphones, you won't beat the value on these.

Say whatever you want, but I've gone through roughly 20 pairs of earbuds from a variety of different manufacturers, and absolutely none of them compare to my Bose IE2 that I got for free through airmiles.
Sure, they might be a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny(if you have to pay for them).

Sennheiser, Klipsch and B&W are all brands I'd take a look at for earbuds. Apparently Denon makes a decent pair too.
Also, if you're willing to spend the money on the IE2s, I would recommend looking at something with noise cancelling since you're in that price range already.
If you're stuck on the Bose, soundsaround usually has them on sale. IIRC they were around $78 in this weeks paper. I have my doubts that you're getting a legit pair of earbuds from that ebay listing.
To the folks spending upwards of $100 on headphones, are you using a lossless or at least 320kpbs/sec source? Just curious.

I bought some on a flight to Frankfurt. They sound great. I can't remember the cost but I was kind of stuck on the plane. I think it was around $90 Canadian.
I like them.

Bose haters really crack me up. 100 times worse than a Mac fanboy.
Bose makes great stuff, it's just expensive.

Most of the earbuds on the websites posted above don' have the attached that Bose does to help the earbuds stay in your ear. As someone who works out regularly while listening to music, that is what sold me. Plus, the sound quality is VERY good.
And they've lasted way longer than any other set of headphones I've ever had.

Oh please. There's a reason for the saying "No highs? No lows? Must be Bose!"
But I guess Bose owners have to justify getting ripped off by convincing themselves that they were spending money on quality.
