Looks like this "lady" has made attempts to sue at least a half dozen other companies before this occurred....
The woman who claims she bit into a human finger while eating chili at a Wendy's restaurant has a history of filing lawsuits – including a claim against another fast-food restaurant in Nevada.
Anna Ayala, who hired a San Jose, Calif., attorney to represent her in the Wendy's case, has been involved in at least half a dozen legal battles in the San Francisco Bay area, according to more than a decade of court records.
Been there, bit it

Oh the poor kid. I bet she gets teased for that one at school. Luckily her older brothers Phil and Collin look out for her.

Indeed. My first thought when I heard that was "Where did she get the finger from, and how long until she goes to jail for it?"
With that kind of history, one starts to consider this a hoax until she is proven innocent.

I heard the brothers used to be called Peter and Gabriel but changed their names when they started to suck.

Authorities would not provide details until a news conference Friday afternoon in San Jose, Calif. — the city where Ayala claimed she bit down on the well-manicured, 1 1/2-inch fingertip in a mouthful of her steamy chili on March 22.

Steamy chili? Hey KevinGuy I think you might be able to make a few bucks on steamy chili in the next few days....

"All the employees at the San Jose store were found to have all their fingers".
I found this funny for some reason. Just said so matter-of-factly.

and in the continuing saga of the finger in the chili story the fingertip owner has been found. He lost it in an accident at the paving company he works for. He gave it to a co-wroker to settle a $50 debt. That co-worker happens to be the chili lady's husband.

I just burst out laughing when looking at one of the "related articles" in that news story:
Wendy's to sell off part of Tim Hortons
Assuming some American is readin this who isn't familliar with the coffee place, he might be wondering if "Tim Horton" was the guy the finger belonged to.
(Yes, slow day at work.)

I think my favorite aspect of this entire story was the naivity of her son, when he said something along the lines of "My mom has a big house and a new truck. Why would she need more money?" as an attempt at defending her.
Talk about injecting the obvious motive.
