Default Flames lose 2 players to tragic KHL crash

D Karlis Skrastins and LW Alexander Vasyunov.

Both players far too young to have their lives snatched from them.

Unbelievable but the Bruins have now had 4 players pass away while on their rosters. Today we lost Pavol Demitra and Ruslan Salei. In the past we lost Segei Zholtok and Mickey Renaud.

Just a sickening feeling and thoughts go out to all the families involved.

As for CPHL rosters, I think we will have to wait for confirmation of the players lost before we remove them from our rosters. For example, Demitra's agent has confirmed his passing.

Obviously the fantasy implications are secondary here but we do have to deal with it. We'll wait for final confirmation before removing the players. I also think its appropriate to waive and "retirement buyouts" that would be applied in some cases. These players didn't retire.

I'm all for waiving the the retirement buyouts for UFAs signed this year.

This is an awful tragedy, RIP to all who passed and thoughts and prayers to the families.

Feel exactly the same way. I still can't believe that happened.

I could not agree more with the second part of the statement.

Not the first, but now's not the time
