Default Ipod song transfer without Itunes?

I just found my old Ipod, so I remember when I uploaded songs before all my song in my computer went to Itunes and was a huge PITA. So I don't want to move all my songs over to Itunes. Is there a way I can move songs from WMP to Ipod? or another program to use so that all my songs dont get moved to ITUNES?

Thanks

I use Floola

http://www.floola.com/home/

Just drag what songs you want onto the iPod.

Easiest way would be to go to iTunes preferences and make it so Songs do NOT copy over to the iTunes library, and rather that they stay in their current location. Then add them to iTunes...and it'll just be indexing them....

probably the best way...imo

edit: or what he said :P

Thanks, I will try that first. I remember that it made it a PITA when I was trying to listen to songs via WMP because it showed up there but wasn't actually there and was an ITunes song.

yeah, it probably moved the songs
if you make it so the physical songs dont move on your computer, WMP should be able to access it in its current location still. and just don't make itunes the default mp3 program

I didn't know where to stick this, this thread makes the most sense I guess. Just got a new iPod, and managed to transfer my old songs onto my new iTunes list. Only it won't give me the option to sync them to my new ipod. I found the sync icon in "file", but its all gray and thus unusable.

My question is, do you have to fully register your ipod with iTunes before it even lets you sync? I was filling it out and it just made me uncomfortable with all the private info they were asking for. Addy/phone #/birthdate/email/credit card info, etc, surprised it didn't ask me for the daytime whereabouts of my firstborn along with a list of my greatest fears.

Anyway, I didn't finish filling it out becuase I'm not even really planning on DL'ing new stuff for now, just fine with my old list. Is there another way to get it to sync, or do I basically have to fill out that info before it lets me?

I don't recall needing to register any ipod I had connecting to my itunes.

What you might need though is an iTunes account, which should be the same account you previously used.

Floola works well, as does Winamp, if you're just moving mp3s around.
