Surprised the Chris Johnson signing hasn't been brought up here yet.
Quote:
Running back Chris Johnson has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Tennessee Titans, ending his holdout.
Johnson has led the NFL in rushing the last three seasons and refused to report to preseason camp without a new deal. The 24th pick overall in the 2008 draft out of East Carolina, Johnson became only the sixth man in NFL history to run for 2,000 yards in 2009 when he ran for 2,006 yards.
The Titans revised his contract a year ago, accelerating some payments, but he still was set to earn only $1.065 million for this season.
Now the running back will be under contract for through 2016 with a revised deal worth $53.5 million, including $30 million guaranteed, according to a person familiar with the contract. The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the contract details remained confidential.
Fullback Ahmard Hall said Johnson would have some work to do to learn new offensive coordinator's Chris Palmer's offense, especially with the different terminology.
"You're going to have to think," Hall said. "You're not going to just be able to roll in and hit the ground running.... Coach Palmer has put in a lot of good things, but the language is different. He's definitely going to have to think. The sooner he gets in the better."

It was sure nice to see the old Brady Quinn last night. Just in time too.

Well, I don't know what it is about Tebow, but just when you think he might sink into relative obscurity the guy does something to make you think he may just be able to play QB in this league.
He's been behind Quinn since just after the first preseason game on the depth chart. Quinn getting talked up in the media and Tebow being just butchered by the same media.
If anyone watched the game last night Tebow is pretty clearly a much better football player than is Brady Quinn.
Also..Lance Ball sucks.

I hate Tim Tebow more than anyone, but the guy is a flat out winner. Some guys got it, while other guys (cough...Jake Locker) just don't.

I don't know, Locker's looked damn good this preseason. I think Locker is a winner too.

The guy always "looks" good, and seems to have all the intangibles that make up a good quarterback but at the end of the day he only won 16 football games in 4 years of college football.

With what he had surrounding him on that team...that is an accomplishment.

When I saw that I read it as Lance sucks balls. I suppose it's pretty much the same thing.
Chiefs winless in the preseason again. although they did progress in each game. They still need a backup QB as Tyler Palko just looks awkward, and Stanzi needs time. I'm also a bit concerned about the line as the running attack dis nothing. Anyone who spends a first round fantasy pick on Jamaal Charles is going to hate themselves in 11 weeks.

Broncos cut to 53 today.
CB Perrish Cox who is facing the possibility of life in prison on rape charges was among the cuts. Good riddance.
Eron Riley was a guy who I was hoping they'd keep at WR. Hopefully he'll be on the practice squad. A little disappointed that Jeremy Beal wasn't able to secure a spot on a week defensive line, but I can't remember seeing the kid on the field once during preseason.
This team is going to be better than many think if they can stay healthy. No depth on defense at all.

All teams had to make cuts to 53 about an hour and a half ago.....
So far it has been reported the Colts cut Tommie Harris, Dan Orlovsky....and waived John Chick.

Chiefs place Moeaki on IR, huge blow. Not only is he a really good pass catcher, but his blocking is just as good. I have no confidence in my Chiefs this year. Could be an ugly 5 win season.

Patriots cut Meriweather? He was in the pro bowl in 2009 and 2010 and is only 27 years old. Did he really drop that much?

He benefited from playing on a good team IMHO. He still got burned a lot and at times made some questionable decisions. There were rumors he was on borrowed time.

You're right, that is a huge loss. Moeaki is a great young TE.
I don't know what to make of our division. Maybe San Diego will finally be the team they were supposed to be and run through everybody.
I still say the Raiders are 4th.

I think the Chargers will win that division by at least 2 games. I wouldn't be surprised if "The Eraser" Bob Sanders wins comeback player of the year.

Was glad to see the Dolphins cut Johnson and Polite in favor of Lex Hilliard. Also good to see Tennessee clear the road for Marc Mariani to get involved in the offense.
If my memory serves the following Grizzlies are on NFL rosters:
Colt Anderson -S- Philadelphia
Kroy Biermann DE- Atlanta
Shan Schillenger -S- Atlanta
Dan Carpenter -K- Miami
Lex Hilliard -RB- Miami
Marc Mariani -WR/KR- Tennessee
Chase Reynolds -RB- was waived by the Rams today.

He reminds me of Jay Cutler, kid has never been a winner.

Gee stick your neck out why don't you....it will be by at least 4 games and likely more. Chargers always rebound from sub par years, and no one else in that division is good enough to win 7 games. Chargers could easily end up with the best record in the AFC. Last year they self inflicted themselves with wounds starting in training camp. This year they're miles ahead of where they were at this time last year.
