Nope, Carvalho was named to national side just before Euro 04. Bento retired internationally after the debacle in Korea. Ugh.

Gary Neville making sure not to say "we' when talking on sky about United is almost as good as counting the amount of times Jamie says 'literally"

Corluka with a major boo boo in the first half and then saves a goal in the second. Croatia is struggling to hold on against Malta. These injuries are hurting my checkered favorites something bad.

Yeah. Paul Scholes in the middle. That would have instantly changed England into World Cup favourites.

It wouldnt have anything to do with the fact that the team just hasnt been very good and couldnt score goals to save their lives.

How about employing strikers that can score? Try that. Instead of re-treading Emile Heskey and Peter Crouch and worrying about moving Paul Scholes to the left.

Maybe you can ask Wayne Rooney to take off his invisibility cloak at the next major competition? Did he even travel with the team to South Africa?

"He is the one whose level I aspire to. He is the best player in the Premier League." Cesc Fabregas

"Scholes is the best English player. Intelligence, technique, strength... all the attributes are there." Laurent Blanc

"Everyone of us should emulate him. We can all learn from Paul Scholes." Edgar Davids

"In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen — the most complete — is Scholes." Xavi

“One of my regrets is that the opportunity to play alongside him [Scholes] never presented itself during my career." Zinedine Zidane

“I want to pass like him. Who taught him how to do that?” Ronaldinho

not saying we would have won anything, but him not being a major factor in the team was a huge mistake by everyone involved

Wales are beating Montenegro 1-0

would be a great result, Germany making quick work of Austria

Portugal and Italy both clinging to 1-0 leads against minnows, Portugal needed a penalty

Okay, and someone once called him the 'Pasty-Faced Chuffer.' I have no idea what that means but its the funniest thing I've ever heard!

I'll agree that a whole host of England managers have screwed up, I just dont think that the end result would be any different than it currently is if they had put Scholes where they should have.

Just you wait, they're getting their torches and pitchforks ready to kill the monster Frankenstein. Oh wait, thats Wayne Rooney. Either way, I'd be gettin' the hell out of there.

Germany arent going to have too much of a problem with Austria, they're basically running with a back 4 of kids and Philip Lahm, granted, if Lahm is there you hardly need anyone else.

Portugal needing the penalty to be up 1-0 on the Cypriot giants, and Ronaldo celebrates the goal like its his last. It was a penalty Cristiano, against Cyprus no less, you can relax.

Inexperienced defence. I doubt they'll be making much of a comeback.

Portugal take note, Holland is putting on a 'playing a minnow' masterclass.

Thats a World Superpower. Its 10-0 right now.
