Bingo. I have tons more confidence in Ward than Luongo. I'd take Ward and 1.6 less cap space instead of 7uongolol. He has a ring and is a clutch performer.

To be fair, I was going to pick him after Thomas so he could have his personal tire pumper at all times

Benn is the steal of the draft so far. Great 2-way player, can play all forward positions and has a cap hit under 1 mil while producing on pace for 66 points playing behind Richards and Ribeiro.
I would've picked him if Ward wasn't on board.

I was going to pick Ward but I thought I would take Fleury at the lesser cap hit.

I can see Benn pushing 80 points this year.

Drafted Rask at 1.25M. Perhaps he would have still been available next round? I don't know but didn't want to risk it with the goalie rush clearly on.
I've saved a lot of cap space with Couture and Rask but I'm getting concerned that there won't be any decent players left to spend that cap space on.

So just a few minutes ago I was thinking to myself about which goalie to take after my next pick. I was thinking Luongo of course, but then I thought I know I will take Rask. I highly doubt anyone would take him, just cause he was stuck behind Thomas this year. I do think he is the best backup in the league and will be a stud tender in the very near future.

Yep you made the right call as I would have taken him 2 picks before you.

Dam you! He wouldn't have been available after the next pick had you not taken him! I will pick soon, have to re-work the plan...

Ok apparently Rask was on alot of people's minds. Now that kipperfan has to rethink he will probably take my guy. However he is a Kipper fan and he is still out there.

Looks like we all had the same plan
I figured he'd still be around for my Round 5 pick... he was my plan for a keeper... damn.

Lol, trust me, I gave him some thought. But I think Niemi is smarter building block and brings much better cap value for my Hawks.
Edit: TBQ for me (after Rask was taken), I did give Kipper some thought as I mentioned above, but it really to came down to Niemi or another young goaltender, ultimately I liked Niemi more and picked him, I will be interested to see how long the other guy lasts.

So we are on a roll right now and would love to get as many picks done as possible tonight, but since its 9 in Calgary the next picks don't need to be done until tomorrow.

I think everyone should be limited to choosing just 1 starting goalie. That way everyone who is playing this at least gets 1 starting goalie it's just a matter of how good the goalie is. It would kind of suck if you had to pick 2 back up goalies. Just a thought.
