Who was Bryn Griffiths?
Apparently, he's the new guy on the Fan960's afternoon show and will have Flames hosting duty as well (the old Rob Kerr gig).

I don't know anything about the guy except that he used to host the Team 1260 morning show in Edmonton and used to work for the marketing department of Northlands. Rogers knows they can hire non-Oilers fans to work at the Calgary station, don't they?

So much for the thought that Loumbardias might find a home on the FAN...
Also, when the Tencer rumours surfaced, could it have been confusion with this guy?

He's an Edmontonian who had worked for the Winnipeg Jets, the Oilers, the TEAM 1260 and most recently Edmonton Northlands.

I guess they figure he's paid his dues in the minors and can now move up.

He was a sports director for many many years as well. Mr. Griffiths has plenty of experience.

So what should we expect from this guy? Is he funny? Will he be the kind of guy to ask the difficult/controversial questions? Does he have sources that could help him break news? Is he going to bring Corsi rates and QualComp to afternoon drive radio?

And how do you pronounce his name? Brinn? Bryan? Reminds me of that Jim Rome Show drop (It's not Ryan, it's Ryne).

I remember listening to him on 1260. I thought he did a pretty good job on the morning show considering he was paired with the idiot Jake Daniels. I wonder whatever happened to that guy.

He's got a great sense of humor, but it won't be the shtick of the afternoon show. Mr. Griffiths is a solid interviewer; one of the best I've heard. I think you'll be impressed with his knowledge of all sports, not just hockey. He's well versed in pretty much everything. A very positive guy. I think sports fans in Calgary will really like him.
Corsi rates etc. are more so coming from the newer generation of sports broadcasters. I think that will be handled more during other segments (call-in etc).

So essentially we have to think of Edmonton as Calgary's minor league affiliate for broadcasters ?

He's actually a really good guy, I'm glad he's landing on his feet in Calgary.
