I'd like to keep this going.
Lets see...
App brain---good alternative to the market\better sorting
K9 Mail---Best free mail app imo
World Newspapers---No Widget, very clean and simple, and jam packed.
Flixter\IMBD---Pretty much the same features, but I like them.
Gtasks---Simple task lists and scrollable widget, syncs with everything though
Jorte---my favorite calender app (Don't like the Widget though
Smooth Calender---more of a widget, but it syncs with your calender and is clean.
Player Pro--I went through several music apps before settling on this one
Zedge--endless ringtones\notifications, especially for nerds.
Thats it for now. I'm always searching for lists of what other people have on their phone, just in case I'm missing out on something awesome.
When I first got the thing I found the "Voice Actions" to be more of a novelty, and didn't see that much practical use for it. Now I find when I am on the move I use it a lot for texting and also for finding and calling phone numbers that I don't have. I'm sure I will find more.

Winamp is really starting to piss me off, it has started not playing the next song when on shuffle, if I turn shuffle off it works just fine.
This combined with the random "media type is not supported" errors (requiring a reboot to be able to play mp3s again) is really aggravating.

I know this is nothing out of the ordinary, but I DL'd Google Earth on my Samsung Galaxy last night. It's prob because my phone's powered by Google, but holy jeebus does it run fast/smooth, even better than on my new'ish (year old) laptop! Really fun to play with when you're stuck on the train or something.

Great call. Had it for 5 mins and it's already my favourite new app. Can't believe how fast it runs too.

Aldiko's quickly become my most-used app.
Digging the Google Music Beta app too.

Love TV Shows Fav. I bought the premium key for it. It's fully functional for 14 days if you want to try it. I bought the key because notifications get disabled in the free version after 14 days. Great app for those shows that you might get from another source as opposed to the regular ones available. I grab certain shows that are either not readily available in Canada or air later on, so an app that tells me when the next episode will air and notifies me of that is great.

no idea, but i grabbed it from a guy on one of the Android forums who posted the .apk file as a protest since only US residents could take advantage of Amazon's free for a day policy. he kept it on his FTP site for 24 hours then took it down

Thanks. I just went and got a protest one too. I hate lousy Amazon/Limited to US policies.
Like things with visual voicemails, pandora and like google voice being restricted to US only. Why can't they just release everywhere at once?

Cut The Rope is out now on the marketplace. IMO it's the best mobile game since Angry Birds, extremely well made and fun puzzles to figure out, well worth the $0.99

Anybody got a app/settings etc backup app to recommend? Preferably one than can do it with one tap instead of having to select everything.

Titanium backup pro/mybackup pro... with root access. One click backup and restore of apps and settings.
Thing is if you want to restore all the app settings and not have to reinstall each app separately you need root access.

Since we're on the topic of rooted phones:
Titanium - Already mentioned above
ROM Manager - pretty much a must for installing custom ROMs and kernels. The paid version will automatically search for updates on the more popular roms (though I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.
SetCPU - For overclocking/underclocking your phone. I think it's like $3, but worth every penny. I actually prefer it for the underclocking features more than the overclocking. I set it to underclock to my kernel's bare minimum when the the screen is shut off, which can keep my battery going on my Legend for pretty much 3 days without worrying about a charge.
Terminal Emulator - Lets you run adb shell on your phone
AutoKiller - It's like an app killer, but much safer. Allows you to adjust how/when your droid sends apps to the background or to close apps, without affecting core programs.
As for games and other fun stuff (no root required! heh)
- Cyber Defense - addictive tower defense game
- Fish Food - oddly fun puzzle game
- Tricorder - converts your phone into a tricorder (nerd it up!)
- U.S. Army Survival Guide - because you never know... lol

Are there any tech guys on here who could recommend some apps for Cisco certification study? There are a lot out there, but I'm a little wary to start buying them to test, a pointer in the right direction would help.

Just search Cisco CCNA and Cisco CCENT on the marketplace. There's a bunch at 99 cents to 2 bucks. Maybe buy one from the series and see how it is? Sorry I can't help you figure it out. If you are enterprising opportunist on the high seas, you could just try to find the APKs.

I've been using the Analytix app for the past week and its phenomenal, which is basically a mobile version on Google's Analytics. The only issue is the widget refresh, which is really spotty. Sometimes works perfect, sometimes not at all. The dev is aware and is working on adding a refresh button right on the widget. Great for small business owners looking for on-the-fly site data.

Added the following apps to my phone recently:
snes9x (Free) - Looks like a pretty much flawless SNES emulator. I remember having this emulator on PC, but seems like it was pretty nicely ported over to the Android.
Nesoid (Free) - NES Emulator that seems to work super well
Boot Manager (~$3) - For rooted phones. Lets you multi-boot up to 5 ROMs really easily. Right now I have both CM7 and MIUI on my phone. Gonna throw on LeeDroid next to see what that's like.

The best rom application is not on the market. It's called "Emulator ROMs" by coolcode.org
I think it was taken off the market because it allowed you to download too many roms for every single system. It's still always updated and the multiple download servers for the rom libraries (even PS1 games) are all live.

I have the entire SNES collection sitting on a portable hard drive at home, so I just stuck my favourite ones on my SD card, and off I go!

This sounds awesome. I will definitely have to look into this!
Edit: I just went to coolcode.org, but it's all in Chinese!

I'm trying to find a listing of Honeycomb apps somewhere. I'm really tempted to pick up a transformer, but I need to know what can of apps have been made for the tablet version of Android first. I thought I'd be able to sort by device on the Android Market, but nope.
I love my new Galaxy S2, but the fragmentation of everything related to Android is very annoying.
