Tried all morning at hp.ca to get one. No dice. Kept reloading the page, kept timing out or getting "server busy" message. Then finally, a sold out message. Booooooo...

As soon as it hit Red Flag on Friday it was game over. Top 5 threads in the hot deals forum was about the touchpad. Poor Manny. They are still advertising the crap out of this thing on TSN. Doesn't HP have another commerical in its place?

Some people actually were able to get them today. They had stock...they just ran out before I could ever get the page to fully load. Someone must have been getting them.

Also: I just updated Adobe reader on the transformer, and PDFs work infinitely better than they did before. I dunno what the fix was, but it made life better.

I was in the same boat as you and had finally decided upon the Asus Transformer.

Then I happened to read today that the Asus Transformer 2 is rumoured to launch in October and will be the first tablet to feature the new Nvida Tegra 3 Quad Core processor, Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS, and will still have the same price point as the original Transformer.

http://www.techtree.com/India/News/A...15744-615.html

Now I am once again deciding if I should believe the rumors and wait the 60 days, or if I should just take the plunge and pick up the current version of the transformer.

Loving the multitasking gestures on the iPad. I can't imagine why Apple would disable these.

Might be a stupid question, but can you use Excel on tablets. I know you can on the playbook but what about the Xoom and Galaxy?

First post from a 4G enabled Galaxy Tab 10.1! Having Samsung connections is nice!
Any questions?

My guess is that enough apps use those gestures that they wanted to give the developers time to adjust before making it the default.

My Girlfriend has a Samsung Galaxy tab (7"), does anyone know if there is an update to get it from Android 2.2 to Gingerbread (2.3)?

She got it from Rogers, not sure if that matters.

While some are debating if there's really room long-term for tablets between smartphones and notebooks, Samsung says there's room between smartphones and tablets:

Was sick of waiting and decided to pick up the ASUS Transformer, the function into a notebook was the key selling point for me.

Now I must ask other Transformer owners what APPS are essential?

Asus Transformer is on sale for $379 at memory express. Might be a mistake as the 32GB model is cheaper than the 16GB one.

That is a smoking deal. If I hadn't just bought an iPad I'd be on my way.

Turns out they're price-matching NCIX.

Also, memoryexpress.com appears to have been RFD'd. It won't load at all for me right now.
