Rebels have entered Tripoli with little to no resistance. Its about midnight in Tripoli right now.

Rebels say they have arrested one of Gadhafi's sons http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa...html?hpt=hp_t1

It won't be long now, The bet now is if Ghadafi is in a spider hole or planning his last stand.

Al Jazeera has coverage:

http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/

There's also Canadian and French flags being waved in "Freedom Square" in Benghazi, in addition to Libyan flags.

It is quite funny how the Canadian flag just keeps showing up at these things.

The armed government soldiers stationed at the hotel to keep an eye on the international journalists have abandoned the hotel according to CNN.

CNN is also reporting that a Libyan government spokesperson is calling for a cease fire and the beginning of negotiations.

There's nothing that he has to negotiate with.

As Khan once said "you are in a position to demand nothing, I on the other hand am in a position to grant nothing"

It will be very interesting to see what sort of government forms now. Will there still be constant unrest as there is in places like Iraq?

I don't think there will be the long term insurgency if that's what you mean. Iraq was a much more different beast than here. Though with reports of looting by the rebel fighters, it might not turn out so well.

I really wonder what happened to all of those Libyan army and Gadhaffi's guardsmen units when Tripoli fell... did they just all decide to go home? Or is this a trap?
