Craig Conroy, super nice person. We met him in February during our stay in Calgary /I am from CZech republic/. THat was the time he retired. He was extremelly kind and polite. What a great person he is. Then we met Regehr, opposite to Craig :-) That is all i have to say about him. Iggy was perfect, as was JBo, Backlund and Karlsson. But the nicest person from our stay was Aeneas. Sad, he is not an NHL player :-) Greetings from CR!

All really decent guys.
Rudest - Domi, Steve Smith, Brett Hull.

I think Regehr sounds more quiet than rude honestly. Out of my friends the biggest A-holes are often the ones who make the best impressions because they're outgoing and arrogant. They make friends at the bars the easiest, and they pick up women the easiest. The nicest guys are usually the quietest ones. They, however, often come across awkward when talking to people initially.

I will disagree... it may have been after a dinner, but he was a really nice guy, joked around with everyone for a few minutes. Has a strong personality, but wasn't rude or antyhing, signed a few things for me.

I met quite a few European NHLers when I was going to university in Prague in 2004 (During the Lockout).
The coolest player i met had to be Olli Jokinen, I was in Helsinki with some friends and met him and in bar and we had a pretty good conversation, He was still playing for the panthers at the time but even then he told me he liked what he had heard about Calgary from Kipper and Toni Lydman. (He also confirmed a rumor that I had heard that Ville Nieminen had a part time job in a strip club in Tempere during the off season). We actually ran into Olli a few times during the next few days and he was allways like "Hey! Calgary Guy!". Needless to say i've peen a pretty big Jokinen fan since.

I met Marty McSorely while he was on his NHL mandated Vacation.
He was doing hockey school's with former Boston team mate Ralph Barahona that some freinds of mine had organised.
It was just after I'd lost my leg in a motor bike accident and Marty came up to me, introduced himself and spent about 30 minutes chatting with me before he had to take to the ice.
Super nice guy.

It seems as though we went to the same high school...hmmm. Though I am a year younger than Heater.
I've met Regehr a few times, one of his old friends from Sask was the manager of the Back Alley, who happened to be dating a good friend of mine. Complicated...had a few shots at the bar with RR, he doesn't have much to say. Not an ass, just a quiet guy. He even wore a mullet wig out once so he wouldn't be as recognizable! Probably one of those that comes off as a jerk but is the nicest guy when you get to know him.
You know who definitely IS an ass though, Neon Dion. What an absolute chump. Saw him at the Stampede a few years ago, made the "mistake" of using his first name...Even after I said I was a huge fan, he says "Do I know you? Then don't talk to me like we're buddies". (I said something along the lines of "Dion! I'm a big fan man, good to see you out here partying"). Any guy that belittles his own fans like that, is a complete and total ass in my books.

I met Jimmy Playfair at the Ice Den in Scottsdale Monday night watching his son play. Guy was none too happy about The Flames organization or Darryl Sutter at all. Unprovoked just tore The Flames to shreds.
Amazingly nice guy though.
I work out at the same gym inside the Ice Den so I have met a handful of Yotes this summer.

Couple of quick stories:
- When I was an 8 year old kid in 1981, I got taken into the Flames dressing room in the old Corral following a game against the Flyers. I distinctly remember Pekka Rautakallio messing up my hair after signing my hockeycard in good fun. That same night, I went to get Willi Plett's autograph. He was still in half his gear and said "come here buddy" and he picked me up and plunked me on his lap while he signed my card and did an interview with a newspaper guy at the same time.
- As an adult now, I have both Conroy and Regehr living in my neighbourhood. I have seen Conroy several times in the school playground after school chasing the kids (mine included) and being a dad. Regehr often walks his kid around the neighbourhood in a stroller and always says hi if I pass him (I don't know him). I do remember on the day of the gold medal final in 2010, prior to the game he walked by us on one of his stroller-walks. Me and some family were playing shinny at the outdoor ice in the park. He started joking around as he watched us play and was betting who was going to score next. He then asked us if we were going to be watching the game and who's house was going to be the place to be at.
At the end of the day, I have nothing but good things to say about Regehr.

Not to sound like a gossip longer but what the hell, did Jimmy say anything about Feaster or elaborate about what he dislikes about the Flames?

When Florida came to Saskatoon for a pre season game against the Flames a few years back Jokinen was standing outside one of the "boxes" during the intermission.
Everyone knew it was him and a lot of people were just standing around and not approaching, just looking at him. So I was walking by I got caught in a stare as well just kind of surprised to see him standing out in the open like that. I just hapened to be there when he crossed the void and sqautted down to ask the closest little kid if they would like an autograph.
He then sat there for the entire intermission signing autographs for Flames fans, Panther fans and just hockey fans in general. That bumped him up a few notches in my books.

Speaking of awkward, I met about 1/2 of the flames in Vancouver at a bar that will remain not named. But Jay Boumeester is every bit awkward as you see in the media, must be his personality and not his "drive". Jamal Mayers seemed to be cranky. Nigel Dawes was actually pretty cool.
The highlight of my night absolutly had to be talking to Miikka and receiving a drink from him after we talked and mentioned that we drove from Calgary to watch them (in a meaningless final game of the season in Vancouver).
Others I met that night Matt "damon" Stajan, Nik Hagman, Curtis Glencross's little bro (who I mistook for brett sutter haha) I believe Regher was there but hard to remember how he acted. haha Ian "stache" White was drinking Pil if I remember right, kinda suits him.
Ohhhh and I felt really bad when I asked Vesa Toskola if he was going to get the start (since it was the last game of the year on the road and kipper had been played alot) and I got a "No" followed by a sad face haha.
I don't think I'll ever run into that many NHLers at once again.
oh and this was 2010 april

Yeah, he and Oliwa are two former Flames I miss the most. They brought so much personality to the team. Ville especially was instrumental (in my opinion) in the 2004 run. I suppose we have Jokinen now, which is pretty awesome. But Jokinen is not a wild man on the ice the way Ville was.
