But some people who live in Edmonton might not have been anywhere else so they don't really know that it is, as Oilkiller claims, a total craphole without being able to compare it to anywhere else.

..yea Calgary isn't exactly having warm weather either right now and is cold too. But I wasn't comparing. Just saying Edmonton is cold. Which it is.

Oh for craps sake...I live here...what do you expect me to do. I like the city a lot. Average temperature, uh huh, that's the way to judge temps. Last summer we sure froze our asses off with those mid to late 30's temps...whew...because Calgary is such a tropical paradise year round...give it a rest.

And fotze... |

I never know if I like you or hate you MMM. You live in Edmonton, you cheer for the Canucks, and you spend your internet time on a Calgary Flames messageboard.

When you're arguing the relative merits of average temperatures of 2 or 3 or 3.5 degrees... you gotta move to someplace where you can actually get away from your computer and spend some time outdoors.

True. If I had to live in Edmonton I would either be the one behind the gun, or the one trying desperately to get in front of it.

Have you ever been to Canucks.com? This is one of the better sites for hockey talk I find, as long as the ignore list is properly utilized.

I am in university up here in Nursing and I was number twenty something on the list for MRU and I have little interest in going back to the U of C.

For anyone interested, Edmonton is still the murder capital, up to probably 35 tonight after an incident in south Edmonton.

I really don't mind Edmonton compared to Vancouver.

Sure you can. Euthanasia is still illegal. Expect a big push for that to change from our neighbours to the north.

"The driver fled in a separate vehicle, a black BMW SUV. Police are looking for a 29-year-old suspect."
Well at least he got away in style. Probably Millwoods if it's Southwest Edmonton. That area isn't much better than North/West Edmonton.

I'm glad you know your Edmonton geography, trackercrowe.
Millwoods is actually southeast, and this apparently happened in the rich, southwest.

wow, considering toronto has 4x the population, edmonton having more murders is downright outrageous, and more than anything else, sad.
not sure if that's just how much worse edmonton crime is, or how good toronto is for a large metropolitan. Ughh, the good ol' calgary boy in me is slowing creeping into the darkside and appreciating Toronto more and more since moving out east 12 years ago....
