Is it REALLY too much to ask for Mills to preserve a 6 run lead? SERIOUSLY?!

What can you expect with Mills? His pitches are crappy, 84 MPH fastball and he has minimal control tonight. It's okay if your Brandon Morrow to leave the pitches up at times, but not if you have an 84 MPH fastball as your out pitch.

If you're a junk baller like Mills, you need to have a wacky pitch, or extreme control in order to be a MLB pitcher. Jamie Moyer was successful because of his control even though he's been throwing garbage for the last 7 or 8 years, and Wakefield was because of the knuckleball. Otherwise you're pretty much screwed, like Mills is.

Yep young teams are gonna have to go through having offensive explosions and giving up big innings.
Thames is certainly a bit of an adventure in left but I like his game, and good to see Bautista get a HR.

Johnny Mac's been swinging a pretty good stick here lately. Hopefully the Jays pen can hold this 6 run lead. Last time I went to bed with the Jays up 6 in Seattle this late in the game, they lost it.

Had the pleasure of going down to Seattle for the Red Sox Series and 2 Jays game. What slug fests.....never seen the Mariners play this well since 01.
Got Bautista's autograph and batting glove....and a bunch of other autographs.....Brett lawrie was really cool doing them.....safeco is a beautiful field.

Norris, was thought to be a tougher sign.... for the exact reason.
Beede is going after the cash, I remember another Jays draft pick that did the same thing and he blew out his arm....

I'm not saying I agree with his decision or think its the right way. I believe that Beede truly wanted to go to school and pitch for Vanderbilt and it was going to take a huge offer to change his mind that's what i'm saying. I dont' think it's as simply as I want money I think his deseire for an education and to play for Vanderbilt play a part and I think that should be respected.
I would have for sure taken the money and he took a serious risk but I think he understands it all.

Good for him. He's obviously not about the money, despite what some are oddly speculating. The guy wants to go to college. A million dollars won't change that.

AA said they could have signed him for sure.... Basically the Jays don't believe the player was worth the bonus his agent asked for.
This guy would have left college without a doubt, but his price was very steep.
Remember the guy is going to college to play ball.... I am sure he will get a degree.

I guess the other question is, suppose the Jays accepted Beede's salary demand... Is it still not about the money?

Really good series by the Jays. SHOULD have been a sweep, oh well. With the exception of the upcoming Rays series the Jays have a lot of potential W's ahead of them.
When Morrow is on he is one of the best.
