Smashville updated trade block...
Rumours have been swirling for a month or two that with the relocation of the Atlanta franchise, the natural way to re-align the divisions is to have Nashville move to the SE. "We've heard that talk and we'll see what happens over the next year" said GM Slava "if this is indeed our final season in the Central though we wanted to do some damage."
Scanning the roster in Nashville that would be difficult at this point. A couple of Free Agent signings might change that however; on Tuesday the Predators were able to reach a one year deal with both Cam Janssen and Eric Godard. Its still early, but theoretically they would play the wing on a line with BJ Crombeen. "Well climbing the standings might be difficult for us, but these kinds of additions will hopefully help entertain the fans."
Looking ahead: After this season the Predators would have only 3 players under contract (on their CPHL squad) squad for next season. Its clear and evident that the team will be very different heading into 2012-2013 and that this will be a season of change for the Predators.

This is just too much to put in the main trade block thread:
CPHL Roster:
Willing to move anyone except for Backstrom. I'd prefer to hang on to Franzen, but will entertain offers.
AHL Roster: Will move anyone save for Bishop, Santorelli or Butler. Otherwise we're looking to move players in 2-1 deals and such to trim the roster.
ECHL Roster: We have 27 players here and need to trim at least a dozen. For the most part we'd accept a pick comparable to where they were selected. There are a few guys who we'll likely keep though:
Max Reinhart....probably no lengthy explanation needed.
Jordan Weal - Looks like a kid with a nice upswing and at this point I'll most likely keep him.
Tyler Pitlick: Kind of a bubble guy in terms of keeping him. He looks good but I would probably move him.
Riley Sheahan: I would probably move him in the right deal, good Red Wings prospect.
Landon Ferraro: Another good Detroit owned player with good upside.
Otherwise there are some guys who will be harder to pry away and some who could be had for a song (and not surprisingly some who will be cut entirely!) If you have room for a 2-1 deal though I'm interested. I will want a good prospect coming back for two decent prospects though, just to be fair.
PM, or MSN is best.

We're not getting much action on the bottom rosters. Here are a few that could be had that I think still have some good upside, who could be had for relatively cheap:
Brent Benson: He went undrafted, but he appears to have everything that you're looking for. Every year he scores more points and if that continues this year he should increase and be on the radar for teams in the spring.
Luke Lockhart: Again an undrafted player who scored more points every year in the WHL. Shows good promise and again if he keeps piling up points he'll surely be in the talks this year.
Jyrkki Jokkipakka: Playing good hockey in Finland and drafted by Dallas this year after a good WJC. A big guy at 6'3", 191 he would be a good addition to most ECHL squads.
Anyway....just hoping that I can generate some interest and that some GMs will take some of my many players in the ECHL/AHL.

Nashville made a couple of deals on Friday:
Coming to Nashville:
Cory Stillman
2013 3rd
5th
Leaving:
Phil Lane
Jay McClement
Patrick Koudys
Joshua Leivo
We also came very close to a deal with a lot of moving parts...hopefully that will still take place with some tinkering. Essentially we are cutting bodies and hope to have a game ready roster within a week.
Nashville also offerred entry level deals to a few deserving ECHLers:
1. Anton Gustafsson: A guy with a lot of skill, and responsible in his own end.
2. Matt Donovan: A solid defender who has looked good at the World Juniors.
3. Tyler Beskorowany: A big goalie who had a great string of games in the Dallas system last season.
4. Jimmy Hayes: A good forward making the jump from college to pro this season in the Chicago system.
Thanks to both LA and NYR for the deals mentioned above!

Always fun to negotiate deals with you Victor, even if they don't pan out. Hope the bigger deal you have on the go pans out.

Yeah good job signing Matt. His dad is our local rink manager. Word is that he will probably end up on the big club on the island this season. Crazy to think we could possibly have an Oklahoman in the NHL this season!

Nashville hooked up on a quick deal with Columbus today. We acquired Dylan Olson in exchange for Chris Thorburn and a 3rd round pick.
This leaves the Preds with an extra ECHLer and AHLer and the deadline for compliance fast approaching! If you are interested in a deal where I can trim these rosters, apply within!

Nashville and Washington finalised a deal today. Heading to DC is Robert Scuderi and in exchange we add Radek Dvorak, Brad Ross and a 4th.
At this point we simply had to add a RWer. After doing the lines in the other thread I recognized how pathetic it was behind Franzen (I have an eye for detail!).
Although we're in discussions on some other trades, I would note that we are looking to reduce the bodies in both the ECHL and AHL. Picks or 2-1 deals are basically what we're after there.
Thanks to Aaron for the talks and deal.

Last ditch effort here; I need to cut 3 guys tonight from the ECHL. I am open to reasonable offers....picks or 2 for one deals preferred for obvious reasons!

Nashville hooked up on an ECHL blockbuster tonight with Pittsburgh. We acquire Calvin Pickard and send Tyler Pitlick and Justin Shugg in exchange. I like those two, but partly due to numbers and partly due to the fact that Pickard looks really good we think its fairly even. Thanks to Goffie for the quick deal (which probably means I overpaid!).
In other news we released a couple ECHLers to make sure that we'll be compliant tonight. They were both 7th rounders in the NHL, so we couldn't find any takers...
