Panty lines - what's the big deal?
On the floor where I work, we have one of those open-concept plans in effect in my area, and I work with four women mostly. We get along well enough, I do my thing most of the time at my desk, and when I have nothing to do or need a break, I go online and do my own thing some more. I’m pretty good with small talk, take an active interest in whatever anyone’s talking about. It’s a pleasant atmosphere.
But sometimes I feel left out of the conversations that go on. Today they were talking about panty lines, and while I was at my desk, I couldn’t help but listen to the conversation, but I didn’t feel very comfortable chiming in.
One woman was very vocal on the subject: she absolutely hates panty lines. She wears boyshorts--I didn’t even know what they were until I googled them, and don’t do that at work, btw--or thongs. Personally, I think thongs are very unsexy and not attractive at all on 99% of the people I have seen them on or imagined them on.
Another lady’s comment was something like “I’ve spent most of my life keeping my underwear out of my ass,” when referring to thongs. I chuckled at this. She has a good point. I’ve never worn a thong, but I imagine it being very uncomfortable and pointless if you're only wearing then to avoid having visible panty lines. She wears french-cut panties, for your-- and I guess my--information. I didn’t google french cut panties after googling boyshorts and probably alerting someone, somewhere in IT that there's a pig working in the building after some questionable websites popped up, but I caught up to speed when I got home.
One of the women didn’t seem to have an opinion on the subject, but was just listening to all sides and agreeing with everyone. That’s what I do when I’m not really engaged in the topic of discussion but don’t feel like working. But I digress.
They were talking about how when wearing jeans, panty lines aren’t so noticeable, but when wearing suit-pants or whatever they’re called, they are. Normally I don’t work on Friday, but it is casual day on Friday and I think I’ve seen most of the women wearing jeans the odd Friday I’ve been in. I’ve made a mental note to take notice the next Friday I do work at where exactly the panty line situation resides when wearing jeans.
The panty line situation is fine with suit pants, if you ask me. I spent pretty much the rest of the day [discriminately and discretionarily] inspecting panty-lines on pretty much everybody I came across. I couldn’t help it, it was on my mind. They honestly don’t bother me one bit. It’s not like I’ve thought “eww, look at her panty lines.” Usually it’s something more primitive and innate from the back of my mind taking notice of the women’s shape . . . because I’m human and male, and that’s what we do.
In fact, I’d go so far as to say I like panty lines. Whether they’re visible on women wearing jeans or suit pants (and do suit pants have a name? I feel like a dork typing “suit pants!” again and again) or whatever other kinds of pants there are. Panty lines get my imagination all fired up (again, because I'm human and male, and that's what we do.)
I kind of wish I had chimed in, but it would have changed the dynamic of the conversation, and left me dangerously close to the ‘uh-oh, creepy’ line by just worming my way into a conversation like that between women. I feel like I’ve gained valuable insight to the female psyche, though.
I’m curious now, what are your opinions on panty lines?

Don't worry, it's not your overuse of "suit pants" that could make one judge you as a dork ...

This thread title is a lot funnier if you imagine it being said by Jerry Seinfeld.

Reminded me of that scene in Old School

Frank: Anything? Well, uh I guess I, deep down, am feeling a little confused. I mean, suddenly, you get married, and you're supposed to be this entirely different guy. I don't feel different. I mean, take yesterday for example. We were out at the Olive Garden for dinner, which was lovely. And uh, I happen to look over at a certain point during the meal and see a waitress taking an order, and I found myself wondering what color her underpants might be. Her panties. Uh, odds are they are probably basic white, cotton, underpants. But I sort of think well maybe they're silk panties, maybe it's a thong. Maybe it's something really cool that I don't even know about. You know, and uh, and I started feeling... what? what I thought we were in the trust tree in the nest, were we not?

I think that is the point of having no panty line. No panty line = no underware = HOT!!!
I am just guessing because I have no idea what the big deal it either.

Can't find a clip so a quote will have to do:
Lois: You know, I'm not wearing any panties.
Peter: Don't worry. We can always throw that chair out.

To make the situation less awkward for you, you should have changed the subject to "camel toes."
I can't believe this thread wasn't started by Option84.

Oh Sr. Mints. You'll never understand our generation's undergarments.

My 2 cents
As a predominantly male oriented forum, I don't think you're going to get a lot of people on here with thoughts and opinions on panty lines
Unless of course the ladies on CP would wish to contribute, I don't think this thread will satisfy your curiousity
Although, if you have a wife,gf, significant other, you'll probably learn all about their intimates and probably accompany them into a Victoria Secret of La Senza on some occassions

Oh god, my last job was in a department with 5 women and they'd often get into conversations like this or about bra sizes, or cramps or what have you during the work. day. I spent a lot of my time there with headphones on.

People are getting far to comfortable with the stuff they share on the internet, particularly this forum.
That being said LuLulemon pants with no lines ftw!

When I see panty lines at work they are usually the big ass kind. There are some really cute girls around, but they have the lanudry day underwear on. It looks unprofessional, first and foremost, but it also looks like they put no effort into their undergarments.
When I'm away from the office and you see a panty line, if it's big it's a turnoff and if it's small it's a turn on. I've also found that the girls who put a lot of thought into their panties, usually put a lot of thought into their outfits, look and are also a little more crazy in bed. I'm sure there are exceptions to both sides, but in my experience that's what I've found.

This reminds of the time when the girls at work started talking about keeping their kitties clean. Yowser.
