So X-COM: Terror from the Deep was bang on. Get those spear guns ready (and damn the cruise ship terror scenarios).

Perhaps they've been living down there for millions of years and have evolved into an ocean dwelling race that can control water!

I was thinking this is more a case for Dustin Hoffman, ala Sphere.

This thread made me re-watch the Abyss just now, just finished it a few minutes ago.

But wth, the scene with the rat being put into that breathing liquid is all different now. You don't even see the rat struggling to breathe. Is this some post editing for PETA or wtf?

Weird, I guess I have the original, didn't even know it was edited. That scene was one of the neatest ones in the movie.

Also, if no one has seen the directors cut, give it a watch. It's almost an entirely different movie with the way the emphasis is placed and the additions to the ending. Quite a bit longer too.

I actually looked for a scene from that cut on youtube first but couldn't find it.

Maybe it's a version released in a different country. For example, the Canadian and European release of the movie "Revolver" has a part where a guy gets shot and there is a lot of blood. Then when I watched the American version, they "cleaned" that scene and erased the blood and didn't show the guy getting shot.

I think that if aliens do exist, they certainly wouldn't be flying circular spacecrafts anymore. I mean, they'd have to know what people are looking for now, right?

Sitrep: Recon team Bravo has arrived at Firebase Sentinal. Perimeter has been secured. Claymores and trip flares have been deployed. Ammo, fuel, and supplies are intact.

Bane out.
