I'm a lousy mechanic, but I'm really cheap.
Auto Experts has served my family/friends fairly for 15 years.

Kingsborough auto service at 42ave and macloed trail( back alley parking lot), the owners of this shop moved there from the shell garage at elbow and southland. I have been going to them for over 10 years, always honest and have at times saved me over 75% off quotes I received at other garages, work is always top notch and if their has ever been an issue they guarantee all their work and have always went above and beyond for me.

John Nunziata at the Scenic Acres Husky has been the only guy my family takes our cars too since we lived there in the mid-90's. Great guy, great mechanic and will give you a fair price. Its a family run shop, very honest people.

Nice to see the love for Auto Experts, though its not in the NW, its close by still being in the north (NE).I second the recommendation for them.

I've been using Pro Star Auto in the N.E. for over a decade. They have always done good work at a fair price. They work on my vehicles, all my companies vehicles and most of the staff personal vehicles.

Thanks for the recommendations, just gave auto experts a shout for a quote. The work I need done on my car is timing belt, radiator belt, front engine mount replacement. Anyone no how much that'll cost me ballpark?

Hawkwood Auto in (you guessed it) Hawkwood has always been great. I've heard Mike's Automotive in Marda Loop is tremendous as well. I'd give one of them a shot.

For work on a Honda, go see Hu (Hu's Garage - 351-3132 26 St NE); he used to work for one of the Honda dealers and decided to go on his own. He's been really good for us (when we had Honda's)

$700 parts and labour. $450 for timing belt (new water pump too), $250 for the radiator belt? and front engine mount replacement. That is just a guess, I owned a 2005 Civic. They are the same car essentially, 7th generation Civic. I did all the work myself, no idea what labour would cost.

Just be careful- you are asking for somebody good as well as cheap; and that is a rare find in the mechanical world.
I live in the deep SE but I take my car to Montgomery Certigard; at Home road and 16th ave NW. Why- because they do excellent work and are great to deal with. They won't do anything you don't need, and every time I take my car there they will break things down into what is needed now, soon, and what we should be looking for down the road.

They aren't the cheapest, but I think I get excellent value for my money.

Glad to hear someone say something good about these guys. Our office just moved into the same parking lot as them. VERY handy having a mechanic that close to where you work. I have already had them do some repairs on my car for me and was very happy with the price and the job they did. Will be going back shortly to have them do my rear brakes. I called around when the quoted the work they were going to do on my car and found them to be very competitive.

+1 to these guys for sure.

Just gave Hu a call sounds like a really awesome legit guy. Your quote was pretty much bang on. 500 for the timing belt and water pump, 55 for the radiator belts and about 150 for the mount. That about 300ish less then what Honda quoted me at. Thanks for the recommendations everyone.
