And unfortunately you just pointed out one of the problems with society. If its some socially outcast moron, or someone who's jealous because life isn't unfair, I find it unbelievable that a young girl that tries to achieve her dreams and receives death threats and other garbage and we shrug our shoulders and say that its part of the job description, or the price of fame.

Thats a pretty depressing statement.

Yeah, the death threats and bullying are things that no one should have to deal with, especially a kid. The mocking is something that every person in the public eye needs to become accustomed to, regardless of how their fame is achieved.

In the age of the internet, every media/political/sports personality sets them selves up to be critiqued, mocked, or insulted in some way and cannot take it personally.

Its part of the 'job' description. It's what she signed up for by making the first video and posting it, which is reinforced by the fact that she has made a second video and appeared in promotional materials furthering her career. It is clearly what she wants at this point, and I don't blame her.

Whatever, she starred in a video with Katy Perry and likely got to change in the same change room as her between scenes. That priviledge alone would be worth the blood, sweat and tears of a year's worth of work.

This is giving her a lot more exposure than she would get otherwise and I am sure that is probably why she seems "thick skinned" about it. As long as her name stays in the news, I am sure she is happy.

What are you takling about, William Hung is a classically-trained musician and has sold millions of albums around the world. American Idol is a by-product of him, not the other way around.

Are you saying that Rebecca Black's issues aren't the epitome of having a first world problem?

As for your claim that I "loath" people with money, I must be pretty self-loathing then since my wife and I are among the wealthiest 10% of Canadian households (according to StatsCan). And I must really hate my parents who are in the top 1%.
