Michael Moore wants Matt Damon to run for Obama's chair in the White House
I think Fatty McButterpants II is legitimately losing his mind. A flat out liar and crazy...awesome.

Not sure I see the issue here or how this makes him a liar or crazy or proves he's losing his mind. Moore's docs have always been pretty slanted and he spouts a lot of anti-Republican rhetoric but I'd hardly call him crazy.
Quote:
"If you wanna win, the Republicans have certainly shown the way that when you run someone who is popular you win; sometimes even when you run an actor, you win," he said.
"I only throw his name out there because I'd like us to start thinking that way," he added.

Yeah, just look how well it worked for Sarah Palin!

So he's crazy because he allegedly lies and wants to see someone other than Barack run for the Dems in 2012?

TBQH of all the things Moore has done while he's come around into the spotlight, this is probably one of his least controversial sensical comments.

He doesn't allegedly lie...he does. Its well documented.
He is crazy for thinking that anyone will oust Obama from within his own party...particularly an actor who has no clue what the job is about.

I think Moore is just looking for headlines while showing his displeasure with Obama. Obama isn't getting done what a lot of liberals think should be done. The problem may be that he can't get new policies enacted because the government is owned by big business.
I don't know about Moore being a liar, but he's certainly slanted but no more than the right wing nutbars or Fox News. Whether you support him or not depends on your political leanings although it would be great if the truth was held in more esteem.

You could put the best imaginable leader in the position of President, yet they will dwindle and die because of the corrupt, stupid and awful system that surrounds that office.

As a documentary film maker, Moore makes excellent fiction, through the use of clever editing, outright misleading and less then truthful information that he passes as fact, his movies are no more valid then the Planet of the apes movie starring Marky Mark.

Lol, tell us how you really feel about it Tranny.
Moore lies no more (and I'd say in many instances a lot less) than the mountains of conservative mouthpieces like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, O'Reilly, etc. ad nauseum. He certainly isn't the best source, but he ain't the worst either.
As with most things, if one is interested on a subject or movement of any type it's good to start with a source you like or are interested, but then branch out and learn more, check other sources, and even different opinions and people you don't agree with. Michael Moore, like many, even those I mentioned, can do that for a person.
As for the topic at hand, I'm not sure how it makes him crazy. Sure it's probably a bad idea, but not for the reason that he wants to oust someone 'from his own party'. As you stated. (And from reading the article it doesn't sound like it's a serious idea anyway)
In fact, that 'from his own party' thinking you brought up again shows that you, like most Americans, still define themselves with a party whether they like how they are performing or not. I mean, why wouldn't you want to try to improve your own party, or steer it back on course if you thought it wasn't doing well? You don't have to stand with it (and more dangerously stand against the other party) if you don't think it's doing the right thing. A party doesn't have to define you, you don't have to stick up for it's every decision, and rail against it's opponents. Heck, you can even vote against it.
It's that kind of combativite thinking that is tearing the country apart right now.

I agree. The system (and political culture) in which Barack Obama is operating makes it almost impossible to enact his agenda and make real change happen. Almost completely intractable at this point.

I don't think Moore was being totally serious. He was just trying to make a point.

Calling Reagan an 'actor' at the point he was elected President of the United States is a joke. The guy hadn't been an actor for years. He'd been a politician.

Well, Arnie won as well.
I think the comment about it not being a serious idea was this...
"I only throw his name out there because I'd like us to start thinking that way," he added.
I read that as to mean, 'I want us to start thinking the way he is thinking,' talking about Damon's recent actions and comments, which were quite good.
Though, as we all know, and I'm assuming MM too, that's a far cry from becoming a career politician. But as was said, I think it was said just to make a point about some of the things Damon has brought up recently.

Can anyone seriously be worse than Bush? Damon would be better than Bush.
