Honda Element: It looks like it was designed by a Kindergartener.

Loosely based on that orange piece of crap in habernac's post is the Daihatsu (small-ish car company that specializes in smaller cars here in Japan) Naked. I'm not sure if they were inspired by Lego but it is up there with the Aztec for car-ugly.

All the models listed so far are pretty ugly. I hate those concept cars where they try to combine... say, a sports car and an SUV or something. Sleek looking aerodynamic front that becomes a big, square hatchback. Blech...

I love ugly cars.
I used to drive a Lada Signet in high school.

i am a gigantic nissan buff so it pains me to say this...
the 350Z.
i credit THAT CAR with the downward trend in my career circa 2001-2002.
i was starting to make real money for the first time in my life, and when i heard the new Z was coming i was pumped big-time. this was it, the car that i could buy new!
then on january 5, 2001, i got a look - UGH! career down the crapper. coincidence...?
it took me awhile to articulate _exactly_ what is wrong with it - sport utility styling cues on a sports car. fender flares on the front that jut out from nothing. high windowsill and seating position. and let's not forget the gigantic fat ass.
i guess i'm still waiting on the day i can reasonably afford a used 300ZX turbo...

finally some one is in agreement with me. so many people like the 350z, but in my book the late model (95-96) 300 ZX is by far a nicer car.. i would kill for one in great shape.. one of my fav's. good call

many people do like it.
but many people liked the pacer, the pinto, etc.
styles are flavours of the moment sometimes, like when those huge-fin cars came out in the fifties, the race was on to make the biggest gaudiest crap hang off a car and before long everyone was sick of them.
guigario (sp?), the italian designer responsible for some of the prettiest cars around - lots of ferarris, the 89 lotus espirit, etc. said once that if form follows function then the car will look good forever. but going with the style of the moment will give it a shelf life. i am parahrasing to the extreme here.
sport-utilities will be out of favour, eventually - much to the chagrin of some very wealthy oil sheiks and dick cheney.
around then the 350Z will be real cheap to buy used.
god's honest truth a trim of the buttocks and a shaving of the front fender flares, to make it closer to the old jag-knockoff fastback style, would do wonders for the car.
maybe in five years i'll pick one up for $12000 or so and hack the body apart.
now that 90-96 300ZX, boy is that a stunner, and it will remain so forever.

Thank you!
I've hated those things from their debut.
Other nasty cars: Honda Element (look ma, box on wheels), the H|2, and any SUV larger than an elephant (excursion, sequoiya, escalade, etc.), and that new half-station wagon half-SUV thing they've been advertising occasionally during the World Cup -- the Dodge Magnum. Blech.

Pinto is the king here. It's ugy, serves little putpose (unlike element/aztek) and is a piece of crap to boot.
The runner up would be Eagle, not sure what model, but it's the all-wheel drive. Ugh.......

Oh please... none compare to the two following cars. I firmly believe they were the two biggest pieces of crap to roll on Canadian roads: :doo:
1) The Hyundai Pony
http://www.scorbett.ca/photos/cars/1...ny/sh*tbox.jpg
(filter won't let me post a working link), change the * to an i)
Apparently they never considered rust and wet climates of Canada before they sent it here... it started rusting the day it hit the Port of Vancouver and just kept rusting...
2) Hyundai Stellar
I think this is actually worse then the Pony was, as it was Hyundai's 2nd attempt at a car for the Canadian market. Bad motor, bad body work, bad everything.
While perhaps both cars are not the ugliest out there, I firmly believe that from a mechanical and body point of view, they were the absolute worst in recent memory (freakshows like the Yugo and Lada/Skoda excepted, although I think they may be better than these 2 s*itboxes)

Hulk there is one of those things driving around Calgary. I was so memorized by it (mostly wondering what the hell it was) that I didn't notice the light had turned green. Odd looking thing.
