Default Big shoe thread

I've seen a few people mention they have really big feet on this board, so I thought it'd be a good idea to pool our info on where to get shoes. It seems shoe shopping in Calgary is a joke if you have big feet.

I wear a 17, and up until a few years ago when Town and Country Footwear just off McLeod Trail closed down, I never had a problem finding shoes. Runners have been easy to find, but not casual, semi-casual or dress shoes.

Today I went to the New Balance store in the Crowfoot outdoor mall in the NW, and ordered couple pairs. Their policy is that you pay 50% of the shoe they have to order, as well as the freight fee or $15. If the shoe fits, they take all that off the total price, but if they have to send it back, you forfeit the freight fee, but get your 50% back. Kinda' ####ty, but it's better than ordering online and having to send them back.

That is the only local store I know of that seems to carry anything these days.

Where do you get your big shoes?

(Cue the water skiing jokes.)

17!?!?! Jesus, how tall are you? Do you have to be careful not to dangle into the toilet water when you drop the Cosby kids off at the pool?

I'm a measly 14 and I generally can find Asics, which are my runners of choice, in my size. Finding work shoes or sneakers often sucks though. I usually just wait until my next trip to the US. DSW has found me cheap work shoes that have lasted a couple years each several times.

Dear lord, 17? Now I feel like my feet are small and I rock size 12's.

Size 12 is 50-50 in terms of them having my size. Some either have 11 or 13, and then the other have the size 12's.

Size Does Matter: A group of European researchers have once again discovered that there is a connection between the size of a man's shoes and the length of his penis. The scientists came up with their conclusion after testing several thousand Russian men with their formula: H=(L+5)/2 (L= foot length in centimeters, whereas H designates the length of manhood in centimeters). The formula proved to be 90% accurate.

I'm a size 14 and like to wear skate shoes. I'm 34 and half the time still dress like my 14 year-old skater self. Pretty cool, I know. Anywho, I have an impossible time finding shoes. I'm wearing Vans right now that I got a the Shoe Warehouse and they are very comfortable. I just found out you can order Vans online so I'll probably pick up another pair or two, although I hate buying shoes without trying them on first. If anybody sees any size 14 skate shoes out there please let me know.

I concur. I tried to find size 14 shoes at MEC and Bow Cycle and just gave up. I'm rocking those old school plastic baskets and just slide my normal shoes into them. It's fine for the riding I do, but wouldn't be good for you guys that go long distances.

99% of the time sizes 8-13 are a core size run so if they don't have your size chances are they did have them at one point but sold out. The company I work for used to try and stock at least a 14 and sometimes a 15 in basically every shoe we carried. The problem was, as much of a demand as there seemed to be for larger sizes, the shoes would sit there on the shelves for months until we were forced to mark them down just to clear up space.

My boss currently has a size 22 New Balance sitting in his office. The things a monster.

FYI bike shoe guys, I found a 14 at Ridley's. It is a mountain bike shoe, but it's Northwave who also makes road shoes, so maybe check there?

I got drunk with the owner of this site in Hawaii at a sushi bar. Not sure if the site is any good, but he told me all about it while we were eating dinner next to him.

Again, I wear 9.5 shoes so I have no clue how good it is. They guy was really nice though, bought us a few rounds of sushi and shots.

I wore size 13 when I was ten. I wore size 16 when I was 13. Feet haven't grown since.

Like most other oversized feet guys, I get my various shoes on trips down to the states.

I'm a 13 as well. I usually don't have a problem with 13, that is usually like CaramonLS said the upper limit so it's alright. Not a massive selection ever, but I'm not a shoe fag.

I wear extra large gloves (if they even fit), they don't make a hat my size and I wear size 8 1/2 triple extra wide shoes. I can never find anything that fits me.
