Default WGC-Bridgestone Invitational: Tiger's Back

Pretty solid and consistent round from Tiger on Thursday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. It's a tournament he has historically played very well at.

Currently he is sitting in a tie for 18th, at -2, six strokes back of leader Adam Scott.

1. Scott -8
2. Day -7
3. Watney -5

Pretty loaded leaderboard with the above 4 mentioned players plus Mickelson, Ogilvy, Westwood, McIlroy, Garcia, and many others at -2 or better.

I don't know if this means he is back yet or not...and i suspect we wont know for a while yet as he really hasnt been physically or emotionally well in almost 2 years.

I do know that I want to see him come back and be as dominant as he ever was at some point....just so the haters shut up for a while. Also its really really good for the health of the sport when he is playing well...and that is more important than anything.

I thought it kind of funny that the leader has his old caddie pulling out the sticks.

How much fun would a Woods/Scott final group pairing be? If Tiger can get back to 70-80% of what he was, there are a lot of fun rivalries out there now to be had.

I like Tiger, but I will chuckle just a bit if Adam Scott wins with Steve Williams on the bag.

Good to see Steve Williams is still a jerk.

Nice, golf needs a villian. As most have mentioned, if Tiger gets back he becomes the hero and Scott the villian. Tiger can turn all the negative press around.

With all the excellent young golfers I highly doubt Tiger becomes a hero again. With all the wear and tear on his body his best years are behind him.

They interviewd Steve Williams when all was said and done. He stuck it to Tiger and his achievments by saying today was his best victory of his 33 year career as a caddie.

in order for Tiger to be "back", he'll have to dominate the sport for 4-6 years, winning tournaments by landslides and having legitimate world class opponents openly admit to be playing for 2nd place.

I'd love to see it, but I don't think we will again in our lifetimes.

Tiger will win a bunch more tournaments, but he'll never be "back" to what he once was.
