Powerplay Quarterback

yea 12 or 13 wins is realistic. This team is definitely talented, but we will see if the O-line is as good this year and if they can get over their playoff issues against sask (hopefully BC-Calgary west final though)
BC will be good (very good defence) and tough to beat. Sask will be good once again and Edmonton...well they could have a turnaround season, but I doubt it

Even though it will likely take up to three games for the offense to get up to speed as it has been annually since Burris came back IMO the Stampeders are unmatched at the QB, RB, and receiver positions so it's going to come down to defense how good this team will be. I'm a little worried as the Stamps had problems defending against the deep ball with Browner and Anderson so without them it could be a long year as Chris Jones defense will expose the secondary.

Drew Tate back this week.
Drew Tate has spent the first five weeks of the 2011 Canadian Football League season watching football games from a lot of different perspectives.
Just not the one he truly covets: as backup quarterback for the Calgary Stampeders, thanks to a shoulder dislocation he suffered in the pre-season.

If Winnipeg had any brains they would be all over this and sign him for the rest of the season for when inevitably Pierce gets an injury that lasts longer than one game.

I think that with the hot start Winnipeg actually wants to win this year so I don't see why they would have any interest in Bishop.

Good to hear Tate is back, according to Huff he was ready last week, but they decided to rest him for an extra week.
Bishop was solid in short yardage, not sure if he will catch on anywhere else though.

For all the talk about the Stampeders struggling offense, (previously) they are currently second in league in points for.

I know I'm a couple days late, but man was that Sask game fun to watch! Love beating those guys in their own barn too, how hilarious is it that they're 1-6? So pathetic.

Just got back from a short business trip to Sask and they are not the usual over cocky selves. No Rider talk what so ever.
As for the Stamps Browner could be that much closer to being cut he is low on the depth chart at corner with Seattle and his contract is only as a reserve player.

And Burris, despite the early struggles this season, Burris is on pace for over 5000 yards passing. They haven't hit the big plays yet but it seems that there might not be one go to guy, the ball is being spread out more. The downside, the rushing numbers are down, probably too low for the talent in the backfield.

I actually don't mind underusing the running game early in the season. Getting to the stretch run and post-season with healthy RBs is key. I do like how Dickenson is running a lot of plays to use the RBs in passing situations, although I hope that the offense uses more running plays as the season progresses, particularly the option play, which Burris and Reynolds run better than anyone in the league.

Not sure where you were but the Rider talk is hotter than ever right now. Except it is all about who is going to get fired.

And I think another loss tomorrow will bring on the changes, much easier to do with a bye week. In saying that, I think Marshall is safe but Berry and or Hall could be in danger.

I"ve actually heard that Seattle is really happy with Browner so far. I saw a bit of him in the pre season game and I thought he looked good. Looks like many Seahawks fans want Browner to play more in the next game, but we'll see.
I think Browner was a CFL free agent so even if he was cut I don't think he reverts back to the Stamps they would have to sign him. May be difficult.

Brandon Browner appears to have locked down a roster spot with Seattle after they traded CB Kelly Jennings to Cincinnati this afternoon.
