The A's have traded reliever Brad Zeigler to the D-Backs for first baseman Brandon Allen and reliever Jordan Norberto.

*I should add that the Giants are apparently asking the A's about Crisp.

Mike Adams to the the Rangers. Rangers have really strengthened their bullpen the last couple of days.

Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz has a stress fracture in his lower back, according to a report on Comcast Sports New England.
Quote:
Sunday night, Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein hinted that the club did not expect good news after Buchholz visits Watkins on Monday.
"Clearly, we have some concern for Clay," he said. "It's been a couple of months now, which is longer than we expected it to be. We're still awaiting some more feedback and another opinion. I think we have a feel for what might be going on, but Clay is seeing another expert [Watkins] to get his opinion and then we're all going to put our heads together this week.

In case anyone is interested, the HBO documentary "Derek Jeter 3K" is really good. At least from my point of view. Look for it on HBO Canada, I think it's worth a watch.

Rios has been such a disaster for the White Sox.

Ken Williams should be fired. He's turned that franchise into a total mess, watching Adam Dunn trying to hit against CC was something else.

KW Ticker:

Cusses off Frank Thomas, arguably the best hitter in Sox History
Pays cash for 15 game of Manny Ramirez
Picks Rios of waivers
Signs Adam Dunn
Trades for Peavy

Don't know if Dunn was a bad deal.. 38 or more home runs in each of the last 7 seasons is very consistant. 4 years - 56 million for that production is reasonable. Who could have guessed he'd be this bad!?

For some reason I have had the urge to rent a baseball video game lately. So I went to Rogers to rent Mlb2k11 for 360, but it was out. I asked someone when its due back and the guy said it was due a month ago. So much for renting that game, unless I go to a different Rogers. Anyone know if it's any good?

Mark Teixeira with homers from both sides tonight - the 12th time he's done that, the most in Major League History.

Another K Williams doozy - Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Sweeney + for Nick Swisher. Swisher than sent to the Yankees for Wilson Betemit

I guess you're right. But that money could have been used more wisely.

Speaking of Kenny Williams, Daniel Hudson is a stud and was traded for less than a year of inconsistency in Edwin Jackson.

He's pitched 7 innings 1 ER in probably the most important game of the year.

Always easier to look back on things from the present. I thought Dunn would be an absolute beast in a hitters park like US Cellular.

While I do agree the results have been disasterous, I really think his decisions on some of those were good decisions with bad outcomes. Frank Thomas' one was dumb, but at the same time, Thomas seemed to really flipped a switch because he was also at odds with the Jays during his time here, so it's possible KW was onto something.

Manny, Rios and Peavy were taken during rough patches in their career at reasonable prices (not so much Rios, but he was taken on waivers). They all had a huge upside if they got their stuff together. However, none worked out and it failed. Dunn was doing incredible but is having an off-season, bigtime. If anything, Dunn can bite them in the butt becaue of the pricetag, but I some things just can't be predicted.

Hasn't Zambrano been snapping and on the verge of leaving Chicago for like 5 years now? It seems like his act has been going on forever.

I wish Zito would do the same thing.

Remaining strength of schedule for all MLB teams. Giants have the easiest schedule.

Just got back from vacation.

Finally got to see Halladay pitch live. It was in the wrong uniform and it wasn't his best outing, but I had a great time seeing the Phillies beat the Dodgers.

And Juan Rivera mocks me wearing a different uniform. He went 4 for 4 with a three run homer in the game 2 days later. But of course, the Dodgers suck and couldn't hold onto their 5-0 1st inning lead.

Great stadium, I think Dodger stadium has held up despite it's age.
