Yeah agreed I think it's interesting that I left it open, I just wasn't sure if I missed something. I do like the direction the season is taking. There's a resolution for each character on the horizon, except for maybe Turtle, but I'm sure theyll bring him in somehow. Love that Johnny's Bananas is looking to be a hit.

I hope they transform Ari into a single womanizer for the remainder of the show.

I mentioned this in last year's Entourage thread.
I think the writers originally had Ari as this ultimate prick. In early episodes, Ari talks to Eric about sleeping with a model, also telling the guys he was thinking about sleeping with his assistant Emily.
It's almost as if the writers had one idea regarding Ari but thought he would come off as extremely unlikable and decided to give him a family man heart who never cheats on his wife.
As funny as a womanizing Ari would be, this show only has 6 episodes left and I can't see them being apart on finale. This show is going to end on a big happy note.
Eric will marry Sloan, Ari will get back together with Mrs Ari. Drama finally becomes a star, Vince gets back to being Vince, Turtle moves out under Vince's shadow and moves in with Alex. Just my predictions.

Any one notice the Carcillo Jersey hanging on Scott's wall? Pretty cool to have some hockey stuff in a show like entourage.

The wallpaper on E's work computer is an Islanders logo. Kevin Connoly is a huge fan in real life. I think I saw a Tavares jersey in his office as well.

Yup, the Isles have even had him at their table for the draft. He's a HUGE Isles fan.

I can't believe the show is going to end on such a mediocre note. The last episode was pure mediocrity, what a way to start the end of the series

For people who think the show has gone way down hill over the last couple of years, I have a honest question. Please don't take it as me ripping on you because I still like the show and you don't. But I'm curious, if you're Doug Ellin and company, what would you have done with the show to keep it good?? What would you have done differently? Or what would you, as a viewer like to see?
I just get the feeling that a majority of people want the show to be the same as seasons 1-3 where it was just Vince living the good life and the guys doing their best to get laid while Ari was being a funny ######bag. You can't do 8 seasons of that and the characters grow up and so does the show and that's what we have seen the last few seasons. Watching the guys live the good Hollywood life would get real old, real fast IMO. I'm glad we have seen Vince go thru some big ups and big downs.
To me, Entourage is still a fun half hour and after each episode, I'm still mad that it's so short. I think 10 more minutes would be perfection, but we've come this far, I can't see it changing now.

nothing really happens anymore, that's the problem. They used to be a group of buddies that did everything together and met interesting people while doing interesting things. Now it's 4 guys doing their own thing, and they are all boring. So much time spent on the relationship between E and Sloan, so much on Turtle and his vodka... they haven't had an adventure together since I can remember. Right around when Vince was in firejumpers or whatever and they did shrooms, it all went downhill from there when they stopped having adventures. And Ari's wife left him for a chef? The old Ari would have challenged him to a duel in the street while screaming at passerbyers to go fck themselves. The best part was that Vince's celebrity allowed for any of their adventures to be believable, unlike the show weeds where it just gets more and more ridiculous.

The last line from Drama had me laughing my ass off for a good 2 minutes. I think that's my new favorite scene, my previous being the drama butt-fataing the girl then sending her on her bike.

Finally caught the first two episodes of this season. First thing I noticed is that both Turtle and Mrs. Ari have lost a good deal of weight (and she didn't have much to lose to begin with).
Loved the random Christian Slater cameo. Andrew Dice Clay grates on me, so I'm not thrilled he looks to be in a recurring role (which seems like it won't end well for Drama).

Begin the process of Vince's downfall much earlier, make it more believable, show the devastating impact it has on the people around him who rely on him, and then have him kill himself with drugs and alcohol in the series finale. Real hard-hitting tragedy, that's what I want to see on HBO.
They really had a lot to work with IMO. They could have explored how media and others build up a star to take advantage of them and then when they no longer serve a purpose they are discarded. They could have done so much and portrayed a really dark side of Hollywood after the first two or three seasons of fun, but that's just not the show they wanted to make, and I'm fine with that.
The direction they did go just didn't captivate me for 8 seasons. I thought 1-4 were great and 7 was good, 8 so far is pretty boring.

I always liked the scenes of the trials and tribulations of trying to get movies and or scripts ready to go. One of my favourite episodes is when they were pitching the Ramones movie around to various studio heads. The day to day life of trying to backstab and cheat others into making movies for a movie star is what is missing.
