Geebuz man, don't call me that - I'm a Haskayne student doing double degrees and my allegiance lies with the business faculty.
Funny you should mention that though, cause in my 521 class everyone was getting excited over getting assigned provinces to research! I don't care what province I get, work is work!

So what province do you have?

Haven't you heard? Kari Roberts is back.
I'm still slightly miffed however, as I was supposed to take a class with her last semester, and it was subsequently cancelled. Anyways, she is back to teaching this semester.
I've not been fortunate enough to have a class with Dube. I don't think he teaches classes in my area of POLI.
And Baron needs to start teaching something new, so I can take another class with him!

I haven't taken any courses with Huebert but he is the Honours Coordinator and so far I have to say he seems like a great guy.
My whole intention with Poli Sci has always been to take it to the Masters level to either an MA or MPA and then go into the Relief and Development Field.
And rockstar, sorry I didn't see you today I was the one in the green coat who stumbled in late and then basically walked around the entire class trying to find a seat.

Pretty much everyone's taken polisci before, doesn't mean were all majoring in it. I'm doing GIS Geomatics, but I started out taking general intro courses (POLI 201, ECON 201, HTST 213 etc) because I didn't know what I wanted to major in.

Sorry, I think I'm just bitter...I got assigned BC all to myself and I'm not happy about that. BC is alot to handle for one person, and I just don't have that kind of time.

I was going to take 485 like Lucid is doing right now, but I decided to pass on the 25-35 page essay.
I have no interest in writing one of those this semester.

So has ANYONE taken BSEN 395 with Bowal? Want to inquire if you still have your book or even general comments on his class.

Econ was...interesting today. Tracey was saying that he is going to be cheering for the Czechs in the Olympics, so everyone started booing. Then he said that he's not cheering for Canada because of Todd Bertuzzi, and everyone either went silent or started clapping. The "he hasn't won the Stanley Cup" argument was weak though, sorry if you're the guy who said that.

I got the NWT. If you want me, let Sayers know. I don't mind doing the NWT by myself, but if you need the help, I can do that too.

Tracey's always good for a little (time-waster) discussion and a rant here and there. Sometimes he'll just say things in order to get a response from the class (whether he actually believes it or not)... Get involved in the discussion! He does it for the students anyways, so take advatage of it

Oh c'mon, it'll be fun! Honestly, I'm not thrilled about this assignment, but the class is a perfect fit for my program. It's what I'm interested in... and the paper couldn't deter me! lol

Yeah, I had him for 201 as well. The lectures lasted about 35 mins on average. He got really angry though when someone randomly yelled out "Bertuzzi is a [insert first part of the word opposite of heterosexual]" It was all jokes, but it was great because I know some Canucks fans in the class

I've never written more than an 18 page essay, and that was on a topic I was interested in (it was supposed to be 20 pages too), and that was a struggle. (Law Politics).
The "extensive" comments on the page were great too..
"Could use more detail. B".
That was all the comments that were on the paper!! Thats it!!

You should get a "Bertuzzi sucks" Chant going in the class. I loved tracey when I had him (203). His classes were pretty easy and he explained things really well.

I found tracey to slow, so I switched out of his econ 359 class...
he might be better for 201/203 though...
I looked though, and he's teaching 7 classes this semester!

He's slow in 201/203 as well...I don't mind it. It's like a slack class for me.
He taught 7 classes last semester too!
BTW...don't want to start a new thread, but has anyone tried to appeal a grade before? Do I go to the prof or...? Nothing's marked wrong, but I thought I deserve a higher mark from what I got on all the assignments. Not to mention it ruined my 4.0 GPA I've heard that they pretty much deny all the appeals though.

I think he might tweak a few groups next Wednesday... probably make sure that Ontario, BC, Quebec and Alberta all have two people at least. Plus, odds are that there will be a couple more people in the class by then.
I was originally Newfoundland, but ended up swapping into the Federal Government.
