Kevin Kolb-to-Cardinals trade done. Eagles get Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd. Kolb gets 5-year, $63.5 million deal, including $21 mil gtd.
Good deal for the Eagles IMO

Kolb to ARZ done for DRC & a 2nd.
Crazy overpayment, imo.
Kolb also gets a 5-yr $63.5M deal, with $21M guaranteed.
Insanity.

Reports out of NY are that Sanchez and LT are redoing their deals for smaller cap hits. Also, with Brad Smith the Jets told him that he would have to wait til the Asomugha situation was resolved. It's starting to look like Jets might actually land him.

even if Kolb turns out to be good, and I think his ceiling is maybe a top 10-15 guy in the league because he cant throw downfield
to give up a pro bowl CB and a 2nd round pick, along with 21m guaranteed for a chance at that is so ridiculous
he has a career 73qb rating, more int's than td's, a losing record starting for what has been a playoff team his entire career...

Highway robbery for the Eagles. Fixes their biggest need, plus they're likely getting what should amount to a late first round pick. Love it. Terrific asset management by Reid and Co.

incarceratedbob: **BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: As i reported earlier CHAD OCHOCINCO is GONE! He is now a NE Patriot #Patriots #85 DONE!
Say what you want about IncarceratedBob (hopefully including how awfully annoying he is), but he's been on fire during the free agent frenzy.

According to Local-12 WKRC in Cincinnati, the Patriots have acquired Chad Ochocinco from the Bengals for an undisclosed draft choice. ESPN's John Clayton reports that the wide receiver has accepted a restructured three-year deal.

As a big Eagles fan a fairly big Kolb I am pretty happy with this deal. I think Kolb turns out to be a really good QB but not elite. He is very much a timing and rhythm thrower so when he has time and can get the 5/7 step drops his mechanics are great and so are his throws. Once there is pressure he falls apart very quickly.
The second round pick surprised the hell out of me but I will take. Samuel and Rodgers-Cromartie will be great together, just need a safety....
The contract extension is beyond ridiculous!

hate the Fat Albert signing but Ocho is a great signing
the bad rep he gets in the media is so overblown, he's not a team killer like TO, and he still has talent

Yeah but that team is his and Brady's and it is their way or the highway and they have the track record to prove it.
I bet they are model citizens this season.

Glad SEA wasn't in on the Kolb sweepstakes if that was the ante.
I don't think Seattle's done with the QB situation...keep in mind Jackson and Whitehurst are signed to equal $4m deals, Whitehurst with a year left, Jackson with 2 years, so they're on equal footing, not one setup for/paid to be the primetime guy.
But what do they bring in...a vet? A rookie? Really interesting to see how this plays out and I am not sure its anywhere near being done given all the moves that Schnieder and Carroll already have a reputation for doing.
Plus, with Mare gone, need a kicker. Some rumblings that Seattle could go at David Akers.

Orton ran the first team offense in the Broncos first practice today. Very interesting.

Well it won't be Akers as he just signed with San Fran.

I've heard that the trade talks between the Phins and Broncos have slowed right down. I still think he ends up in Miami.

Me too. I am sure Marshall is lobbying hard after spedning a year with Chad Henne at QB.

According to reports Vince Young will be backing up Vick in Philadelphia.

Vince Young going to Eagles as backup to Vick. Now two first-rounders (top 3) at same spot.
