Yeah, screw the restaurants in little Italy, you can almost always find a better italian restaurant elsewhere. If you are in the area though and don't need a sit-down, you'd be much better off heading to Saigon deli and getting yourself an out-of-this world Bahn Mi.

Just get the #1 and thank me in the morning.

I really enjoyed the restaurants and pubs in Hells Kitchen adjacent to Times Square.

I found a fantastic little restaurant over there that was really affordable, really fast, and REALLY good!

One little street there seemed to have everything one's stomach would ever desire and at all price points and at all times of the day. The GF and I headed over there after seeing a Broadway show and went to this 40s Swing band place that served this awesome three course steak meal for $25 at like midnight.

Go to The Hoser Hut.

Sing Two Beavers are Better Than One or Sandcastles in the Sand during karaoke.

I'd highly recommend planning a day for the Met/MoMA each. I only planned out half a day for each and found myself rushing through the exhibits just to see everything.

Sadly, the Hoser Hut only lives in our hearts and minds.

Windfall in midtown and Van Diemens in murray Hill become pretty Canadian centric during hockey season. I watched game 5 of the finals at Windfall, people kept asking me why I was at a Canadian bar and cheering for Boston. The answer of course being that I'm from Calgary, and therefore hate the canucks, and I also appreciate teams that don't base their playing style around diving.
