Quality does vary. Sometimes the chicken is dry unfortunately. A lot depends on who's manning the machines, it seems. The one nice looking girl there always undercooks the fries.

KFC has the same timing issues. sometimes the batch is fresh and tasty, other times it dry as H3LL.

Nothing tops the fried chicken-on-a-stick @ 7-11 in Claresholm & Coleman. Basically my favorite part of driving south

I think they used to be affiliated with Safeways in BC.

Is Chester Fried that chicken joint that you usually find at Greyhound stations in small towns?
I take it Calgary doesn't have Popeye's.

No, no Popeye's yet. I tried it once in Mississauga and found it to be way to greasy. Not bad, just greasy.

You used to be able to buy Chester Fried Chicken in various small town Saskatchewan towns, not sure if you still can.
If you're in Winnipeg, you go to Chicken Chef for fried chicken. I think there's still a location on Marion. Original location is small town Carman, Manitoba, home of Eddie Belfour. I KILL for Chicken Chef chicken.

Only place I've ever had Popeye's was in New Orleans, and it was bar none the best "fast food" fried chicken I've ever had. And I swear I liked the biscuits even better. I could eat a whole damn bucket of those things.
I really hope those biscuits weren't just a deep south, regional thing, and that they're made the same way at all stores in the chain.

It's not fried, but chicken in this city begins and ends for me at Nando's. So tasty.

I"m not sure, hopefully someone who still lives there can tell us. I know the one in Carman closed down a while ago. I only make it back to Winnipeg about twice a year now, so there's stuff that disappears that I don't notice for a while.

If you can get a fresh batch, Safeway makes excellent fried chicken.

You need to locate your nearest Mary Browns, and as a bonus they are built slab on grade.
Calgary Fried Chicken:
Mary Browns
KFC
AW
COTW

I have to disagree. Mary Browns is better than KFC and A&W, but Chicken of the Way is still the best. In Calgary the choice is rather pathetic, but KFC is terrible and A&W's Chubby Chicken is atrocious.
