Default The Amazing Spiderman

The teaser for the new Spiderman movie was released today (possibly leaked?). Not really feeling excited about this one. Also, seems way to soon to have another Spiderman franchise starting.

I hope they dont spend the 1st half of the movie building up to how he became spiderman. We know, he got bit by a spider. Everyone knows this. Just get to the good stuff of showing him kick some villains butts.

It looks very 'meh' right now. Hopefully within the next year some more details will come out about it.

I still think the main guy from "The Black Donnelleys" shouldve been Spiderman - he wouldve been awesome.

Andrew Garfield simply does work for this. It's like one of the Jonas brothers is Spiderman.

I said it in the other thread, i don't think we think this looks bad had we not already seen the Raimi movies. But we have and that should come into play here and this re boot should have never been green lit for at least 10 years.

They're making more of these? Dear God, why? Probably just so that have a half-assed decent Spiderman to throw into whatever 'superhero group' movie they've got going on?

Still, cant possibly be worse than the last ones.

Sony Pictures (not Marvel) currently owns the film rights to Spiderman. IIRC, the deal stipulates that a new film must be in production every five years or the rights revert back to Marvel.

Ones, plural? Spiderman 3 was terrible, but I think Spiderman 2 is the best of the series and one of top comic book movies ever made.

No way this will ever be better than the first Spiderman

Spiderman has Macho Man, 'nuff said

Meh. I'll still probably go see it. I probably won't have anything better to do on that day anyway.

I didnt like the first one either. I'm usually willing to put up with a crappy film if theres going to be a trilogy and you just have to deal with having an origin story, but that one flat out sucked.

Spiderman 3 was worse than terrible, it may not be the worst movie of all time, but its in the conversation and it pretty well ruined the whole trilogy for me.

The second one was watchable but nothing special really. I think the only real redeeming feature of the second movie was Alfred Molina.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. How are they starting this franchise over again already?

I guess the good news is that we know Martin Sheen's screen time is severely limited..

These movies have it all wrong. Peter Parker is not some shy, meek kid. He is a cocky, smart-ass.

They need to do the future spiderman where Peter gives Mary Jane cancer with his radioactive seed and kills her.

Then he goes crazy.

I like the use of Gwen Stacy over MJ for the new story arc (although, as I understand it, that was the original order yes?). I think this one could be fun and I like the casting of Garfield, he'll do a good job. And he also looks more like a highschool kid than did 30 year old Toby.

It looks like they are using CGI from 5 years ago. It looks like the first person scene from DOOM.

I bet by the time the movie is finished that first person scene will look unreal. The movie is still in production remember.

Can't wait for 2015 when they reboot the Spiderman franchise yet again.

The last trilogy wasn't that great, and I can't say I have any desire to start all over so soon.
