Hmmm... I didn't even realize that the season had started already. Truth is, I'm not even sure if I care or not any more. Too bad, because after the first season, I really like True Blood.

There will be a new episode on Sunday. I was a bit worried since if it's an American holiday they skip the week.

Damn, this show continues to be just awful. The witch storyline is just awful and that Marnie character is nearly un-watchable.
Jessica and Hoyt just happen to drive by Jason when he's minutes away from dying?? Please.
Waiting for the show to get better, but I've been waiting since the end of Season One. I'm about to give up on it.

The witches suck, I don't like vulnerable Eric, and now they've done something to Pam, one of the best characters on the show? Ugh. And I do NOT care about the weird incestual relationship between the Dexter ditz and Bill. In fact, any scene with either Bill or Sam's brother, I pretty much tune out.
I do love the eye candy, though....they definitely know how to cater to both sexes. That Alcide dude, wow!

the wife and I watched this episode, but this is dangerously close to being removed from the PVR settings.
This is getting so dumb.

Just because you no longer like the show doesn't mean you're going to stop watching. I've considered it sleazy crap since season 2 (in retrospect, the very beginning of the very first episode), but I'm still here.

This show has gone so far down hill. Theres just so many stupid little story lines that it' just rediculous! I read the info for this episode on the shaw menu and it was just ######ed how much different things are going on at once (and most of them nobody cares about) it was something like:
"Wolf guy and Sookie have to find Eric; Witch lady needs to find a new spell; Bill finds out he's banging his distant relative; Jason must escape from the 'were-panthers'; Sam wants to wheel the hot shape shifter; The stupid little brother shifter goes back to his family; Terry runs into more issues with his demon baby"
How many ######ed story lines does this show need?

I watched Season one because I thought it was actually damn good writing and damn good tv.
I justified watching S2 and S3 because it was a guilty pleasure show. Now, I just find myself really bored and turned off by it. But like I said a few posts back, I've put this much time into it, I guess I gotta see it thru. But something tells me, this show still has 2, maybe 3 seasons left.

Yeah, I mentioned before S4 started that I think it's close to jumping the shark if it hasn't already, and might get pulled in the relatively near future (next season or two). As many people have happened, way to much is happening at once and it's getting to be silly. Everyone has a super power of some sort and some of the early ideas that made the show great are lost in the constant 'one ups' and need for constant 'cliffhangers'.
Still, I'm still in guilty pleasure mode and haven't thought S4 has been as bad as some people have said. Amnesia Eric has made me laugh a few times, Bill is finally a little interesting now that he's got a bit of a dark side. He was easily the worst character before this. The witches aren't bugging me as much as they are others, it's a theme that's been echoed in other books, like Anne Rice's.
What did bug me was all the new shifters, and especially this panther race. What's up with that? The constant need to have a love interest or love triangle for every single character is annoying as hell too.
I forget which poster brought it up but, I'm sure Pam will be fine. I agree, she is one of the best, if not the best character on the show.
EDIT: Oh, we're all seeing more incongruities. Like, why would the vampires, especially the powerful ones be worried about mortals pointing weapons at them, even if they were filled with wood or silver? Couldn't they just move fast and disarm them? Things like that and other continuity errors seem to be cluttering up the show, which happens when you keep upping the stakes and changing the characters and storylines in such profound ways.

I agree, there's small parts I don't mind. The baby might be a little interesting and no maybe that's it for me. I'm in the same boat though, I've watched it since season 1, why stop now when there is hopefully 1 more season and Tara needs to die already.

I was under the impression the ratings were pretty good(not sure how), so I don't see it ending anytime soon. At least two more years if you ask me.

Your probably right, right now it seems if you put a vampire anywhere it gets ratings.

I think the show has been slowly getting worse the more it has strayed from the book storyline. Since characters like Sam, Lafayette, Tara, Hoyt and Jessica have played bigger parts in the show they continue to come up with crazier multiple story lines to include everyone. Season 2 was a perfect example of this. Instead of Sookie just leaving town and following her story, they needed to include the whole Maynead storyline to keep the town characters busy.
But I don't think the show will be over anytime soon. Every season 1-3, the audience numbers got bigger. Season 4 is loosely following book 4. There are 11 books, with Charlane Harris under contract for 13. So there is plenty of material for the show writers to use.
Any ways I'll still be watching, and reading even though the books have been getting worse as well.

I've only seen ep1 of this season as my pvr seemd to record most of an hour of treme instead of ep2. I can't watch the rest of them skipping an episode, but it has been nothing but aggravation trying to find it online. maybe this is a sign.

If you subscribe to HBO you should be able to watch the shows online. I would speak with your provider to inquire how you would get the HBO canada login information.

I've tried changing it many times, but it won't work for me. I changed the title of the first post of the thread to "True Blood....it used to be good, but now it's ridiculous."
I made this thread before Season 2 started, when the show was good, now it's a mess.
I hate seeing this thread bumped, looking at the title and seeing me as the person who created it. It's embarassing.
