First big named player traded tonight. The Brewers have picked up Frankie Rodriguez from the Mets.

Just got back from vacation early this morning, we were at the Derby. You're right, it was absolutely crazy, that place was going nuts!
The only big letdown for me was we were in left field, about 25 rows up, right in HR alley for righties. Brought the glove, was expecting to be battling with fans for dingers all game. I can't believe after the 1st round it was nothing but lefties remaining, haha like what are the odds in that?? Our whole section was so shocked/dejected, you could see it in everyone's body language. All the righties really crapped the bed in that thing.
Still an unbelieveable time though, can't believe Gonzales lost after 11 dingers, that was so crazy.

The Cubs bullpen look like they're trying to blow a 2 run lead in the ninth again today. They've already allowed one run, 2-1 Cubs with two outs right now.

Pittsburgh moves into a tie for the lead in the NL Central. It's one of the easiest Divisions in Baseball, but I don't think anyone was expecting this.
I picked up Jeff Karstens as an injury replacement in my fantasy Baseball league, and he's racked up wins in 4 straight starts and 5 in the 7 games I've had him, I was hoping to get 2 games from him, now I think I'll be riding this wave as long as I can.

I swear I heard Dick Enberg say "praise Jesus" when the Padres hit a homerun tonight.
Zito needs to retire.

Granted this was before the 2010 season so they've already served one of those years and this would be year two...but.
If you’re a Giants fan, sit down: Barry Zito still has four guaranteed years left at $76M — and that’s before you get to his $18M club option in 2014 that has a $7M buyout. The option vests with 200 IP in 2013 or 400 IP in 2012-13 or 600 IP in 2011-13.
So I don't think thats happening we're looking at 9 more million this year, 38 the two years after and than the 7 million dollar buy out. As the agents say...he's got 54 million reasons to keep playing.

Top of the 16th right now in Tampa. Rays vs Red Sox. Each team has just 3 hits a piece. TSN2 if you want to watch the snooze fest.

The Pirates are buyers as we approach the trade deadline.
Wait, what?

Amazing isn't it. They have had serious discussion with Beane and the A's regarding an OFer and possibly a reliever or 2.

I could see Willingham, Matsui, Dejesus, Balfour or Fuentes all being part of a package going to Pittsburgh - the outfielder part really is confusing to me, as the Pirates have Mccutchen, Tabata (who is rehabbing in AA right now), and Alex Presley who has been tearing it up since replacing Tabata. I guess they'd serve as bench/role players. Interesting, but I am loving the Pirates becoming relevant again. Been too long for that fan base.

How about that complete game 2-hitter by CJ Wilson, where he didn't give up an earned run yet LOST 1-0

Hall of Fame induction ceremony is on now.
It's amazing that when they introduce the returning Hall of Famers, there isn't a single one that would make us say "hmmmm, he doesn't belong". Baseball Hall of Fame is really reserved only for the most deserving.

Alomar's speech was so touching. I started tearing up when he talked about his parents.
