			Quick question about this series...

If I remember correctly, at the beginning of the second movie, we saw some Decepticon take over a satellite (I think).

Who is this? I don't remember him being killed... looked like a badass.

Better pacing? Where all the action is pretty much over in the first 20 - 25 minutes and the rest is just fill-in for what's going on? Until near the end?

Good characters? You mean Ironhide Replacement Kup, Sideswipe/Sunstreaker Replacement Springer, Prowl Replacement Ultra Magnus, Blatant attempt to attract girls Arcee, Bumblebee Replacement Wheelie, and Ofcourse Warpath Character Gimmick Clone Blurr.

Some solid characters in that piece.

I'll grant you the score. Movies need more synth.

Alright. I'm even more confused.

Wasn't Soundwave the human-sized, vulture-esque Decepticon in the 3rd movie?

Also, who was the big worm guy in the 3rd movie? Shockwave?

I'm terrible with these names. Especially when they're similar like Soundwave and Shockwave.

Edit: Nevermind... that was Laserbeak I guess.

Soundwave was a tape deck. He was known for his useful alt-modes. His cybertronian form was a lamp post.

There is no way that they can render Unicron properly without completely altering the concept, at which point it's not Unicron and it will likely turn out bad.

We also know there is no way they do something new with an already prepared idea like Unicron sitting there.

No, that was Laserbeak. In the cartoon, he was one of the cassette tapes that came out/was associated with Soundwave. In the movie, Soundwave was the car Karlie's boss gave her. In the cartoon, he transformed into a ghetto blaster.

From what I saw, Shockwave simply controlled the giant worm thing. Though, he didn't transform in the movie. He should have (according to the cartoon, anyhow) transformed into a huge gun.

Well, Soundwave was more of a cassette player than a ghetto blaster. Blaster was the ghetto blaster, as Blaster the poster might be tempted to point out.

Also the 3D was great. Some of the best effects I've seen. Makes you wonder what some past classics would be like if they had today's effects and film quality.

Neither were ghettoblasters. They were both tapedeck AM/FM stereos.

Oh, I'm sorry. Had you wanted me to copy and paste the post literally just before that one? K, here.

The Cartoon? 1986 Movie?

The Star Wars rip off with the giant planet-sized planet-killer, light sabre, scrolling text at the beginning, among other things. Add on to that the rape of pretty much every child's happiness after seeing the movie as they watched five of their favorite cartoon characters brutally die in a way not seen since Bambi, and got to see a few more laying around as nice and lifeless and husks. Add in the plot-devices and plot-holes that make the new movies look like Academy Award winners (the plot holes in the new movies also get filled in later or were filled in earlier. Yay comic and video game add-ins!).

Nostalgia is all fun and games until you watch something and even the most stalwart fans waver. Take it from me, I rewatched the entire series again recently. It's good fun, but they have nothing on the new movies other than the designs, and in the end, the new designs weren't terrible.

Copy and pasted for your love!

			Saw this finally tonight!

Checked it out at Empire theaters new setup. 3D and full sound system with the comfy recline leather chairs. Worth the extra $$ for sure. I enjoyed this one the most of the three easy. Just turn off the brain and enjoy the action for 2 1/2 hours. I really did not like the 2nd one with the dumb characters and humor, but this one toned it down and focused on story and action.

Best summer flick so far for me 8/10

Went to go see it last night. Somehow my fingers touched numerous buttons that bought me a ticket for Super 8. Then for some inexplicable reason my feet carried me to the theater Super 8 was playing in. So I decided to sit down and watch it.

I enjoyed it. Maybe next time for Transformers.

I enjoyed it. Maybe next time for Transformers.
