I read a rumor that Jason Stathem might join the series as the new lead... Dunno how that would work, but LaBeouf says he is done with the series (we can only hope so).
Interestingly enough Stathem is currently dating Rosie whatever, so he has a connection to the series. How they would work a middle aged European strong man into the series is beyond comprehension. Yet it would still be better then watching LaBeouf constantly spazzing out during the series.
I'd rather they just stop making these movies and start coming up with original ideas. I like these types of movies but I generally think 3 is enough. I don't see the need to reboot everything.
Speaking of reboot. How about a Reboot movie? That I want to see.
What's with the obsession with rebooting a series so quickly? It hasn't been that long since the first movie came out at all. A reboot would seem silly.

Magneto kills via a Nazi coin through the skull. Your argument is invalid.
Not an entire tree, your argument is invalid.
Edit- Also, if they do a 4th and there is no reboot then the only baddie they really have left is Unicron so.... a reboot is pretty much necessary.
Also, on the topic of a ReBoot movie. Apparently one has been in development by Maineframe Rainmaker Entertainment since 2008, so it's unlikely to see the light of day at this point.

Why is it necessary? Why cant this one just be the end of the series? Maybe in another 10 or 15 years they can try again. But can we go a few years without Transformers?

Well I wasn't born when the cartoon one came out, but you guys all seem to really like that one. Go watch that one.
They really like it and seem to think it was "quality" programming by the way they claim Bay has "raped their childhood" or "destroyed what used to be great". The cartoons were made for children, but people's memories make it seem like Transformer was this dark, well written story with characters with a lot of depth and the dialogue was top notch. If it weren't for the nostalga factor, people would see that the cartoons were campy 80's garbage made for children.
The cartoons were crap, the movies are crap. But they're fun. What's wrong with having a good time at the movies??
I didn't go into it hoping for something emotionally enticing or intellectually stimulating. Sometimes I just like to turn off my brain, watch a movie, and have fun.

I'm just kind of getting sick of seeing the same movies over and over again. Transformers 3 (talk of 4/reboot), Pirates 4 (already talking about 5). Even the superhero movies are starting to grate on me a bit and I love those. I'm hoping after the Avengers comes out we'll see a bit of a break in them. Although there is the Spiderman reboot which is guaranteed to have at least 3 movies. But I'm actually looking forward to that.

The Cartoon? 1986 Movie?
The Star Wars rip off with the giant planet-sized planet-killer, light sabre, scrolling text at the beginning, among other things. Add on to that the rape of pretty much every child's happiness after seeing the movie as they watched five of their favorite cartoon characters brutally die in a way not seen since Bambi, and got to see a few more laying around as nice and lifeless and husks. Add in the plot-devices and plot-holes that make the new movies look like Academy Award winners (the plot holes in the new movies also get filled in later or were filled in earlier. Yay comic and video game add-ins!).
Nostalgia is all fun and games until you watch something and even the most stalwart fans waver. Take it from me, I rewatched the entire series again recently. It's good fun, but they have nothing on the new movies other than the designs, and in the end, the new designs weren't terrible.

Beast Wars was pretty good. The UK Comics weren't too bad either. Time Wars was pretty bleak.
I'd rather watch the 1986 movie than any of the Bay movies. Bleh. More entertaining, better paced, better characters, bad ass soundtrack (sans Weird Al).
It's fine to do the "stupid blockbuster" thing, I like big movies, but when you don't give a crap about any of the characters and the plot is complete non-sense and it goes on and on and on and on and on for 2 1/2 hours .... lol, no thanks to paying $17 to see this one again.
Transformers 3 makes Armageddon look like Gone With the Wind. Even by Michael Bay standards, I think he'll be happy to get back to making movies with actual characters in them. Shia Leboef yelling at the top of his lungs and whining for 90% of the movie isn't a character.

I dunno. I think you build a genuine care for a couple of the characters. Its wierd to talk about robots and humans relationships but I think the Bumblebee-Sam relationship is pretty well done. I was worried he was actually going to kill off Bumblebee at the end. And I think Optimus is decently well done (mostly thanks to Peter Cullen). That said,
Spoiler!
the way Ironhide's death was dealt with was garbage. Not even a mention of him or anything. The guy has been a main character in all three movies and they hardly even mention it.
The reason why I want a re-boot is so they can actually make a good transformers film.
IMO you can't continue with this trilogy and make a new one because the stories of the first 3 are so terrible that even if you wanted to make a good movie (Transformers 4) the story wouldn't be that great because most of the cool characters are dead.
I still haven't seen the third but I don't expect a good story at all.
A re-booted Transformers series with Jason Statham as the lead would be awesome!
