A friendly reminder to anyone visiting Calgary from Vancouver during Stampede...

I know it may be hard to believe, but there will be thousands of people peacefully gathering all around downtown Calgary over the next 10 days. Yes, many of them will be drunk, most of them will be very drunk, but please do not try to take advantage of the situation by attempting to tip over a horse, stick a gasoline-soaked rag up its ass, and trying to light it on fire.

He he he, I just realized something.
I actually won a hat stomping championship (which included winning a sweet as taboo belt buckle, same as the rodeo champs win) partly becasue I had a Flames logo on my boot. I actually out Flames faned you while I was out cowboying a whole slough of other folks.
I'm pretty sure that means I'm like 100x the Calgary citizen that you are.

Calgary was founded on frontier and ranching principles. At one time, it was a huge centre for ranching, butchering and distribution of meat. While this is not quite the case any longer, there are very direct comparables between the ranching background and the current oil & gas climate. If you don't see the comparisons between old Calgary and new Calgary. . . well, I can't help you.

I'll admit it. When i go branding, I often dont wear chaps or even cowboy boots. But come stampede I usually break out the boots. I'm such a poser. But the hat i wear is felt and not straw. Does that minus poser points? What if i wear my palm leaf though cause its hot? Double poser points? Im so confused.
