Heh, true.

I was actually surprised at how modern Zagreb was and how much it looked any Western European city. It actually reminded me a bit of Vienna.

I was expecting it to be more rundown, more like some of the poorer Eastern European cities.

Seems like a nice, sharp lens. Great detail in those shots.

Nice action Jayems. You should freelance to the media (if you don't already.)

This was outside of my truck. Like an inch long. I don't know what the hell it is;

The wife and I were enjoying the morning Sun and having tea on our deck.
I noticed Morley hunkered down in stealth mode cooling off in the shade.

we always get our neighbours little dog and he does the exact opposite.... he finds the spot in the house where the sun is and lays right in it.... then gets miffed when the sun moves!

You work in the Oil patch right?

Tar Sand Beetle.

That's the name we grew up calling it up there anyways, I don't know the "real name".

I always get a kick out of dogs or cats in 'stealth mode'. Our cat is convinced that she, completely white, is invisible against the beige carpet...

As Mr.Mastadonfarm said, tar sand beetle.. Growing up in Fort McMurray you'd find them every summer just stuck to different things.

Between years of uni I'd go work in Fort Mac and find those things in my coveralls at the end of the day... Disgusting, I can't stand them..

I got swarmed by about 20 of them one day on site, it was just a weird black group of bugs flying towards me. By the time I realized what they were I started to run to the truck, but I was in sand with work boots... They got in the truck stuck to me... Gross..

Oh they apparently bite real hard too... Never experienced that myself though...

I can't stand those things..

I always wondered what they were really called as well...

Apparently they are sawyer beetles. Except the pictures of the white spotted sawyer (which is what some say tar sand beetles are doesn't seem quite right), but they look pretty close so it's likely a sawyer beetle of some kind).

hey guys

my wife and i are coming to calgary next week - i'm wondering what camera shop you recommend for getting stuff??

is "the camera store" the best place to go?

any other stores that are good?

i'm looking at picking up the canon extender ef 2x III

https://www.thecamerastore.com/produ...nder-ef-2x-iii

it costs less at the camera store than at lens & shutter (kelowna) AND i'd save 7% provincial sales tax

any suggestions you have would be great

thanks

chris

Camera store > Vistek & Saneal.

$539.88 VS $599.99, Saneal doesn't have it in stock.
