Damn Bautista had a chance with 2 on base and 2 outs, but Thames got caught at first taking a big lead.

I hate the Red Sox and everything about them. The singing of Sweet Caroline is ridiculous, Neil Diamond is from New York City, the song has nothing to do with baseball or Boston.

I agree. I've always known that he would never live up to the contract he was given, and at this point I just hope for some periodic quality starts out of him. Its frustrating because I know the terrible ordeal that he's going through with his family and that its making it really hard for him to do his job, just like it would be hard for anyone else I imagine... As annoyed as I am with his play the best I can do as a fan is wish the best for him and his family and hope that he can play to his potential. This has to be much more productive for him then booing him and piling on him at every chance... Unfortunately there's a lot of Redsox fans that don't seem to realize what he's going through, or they do and they simply don't care.

You just know the Red Sox are going to come back and win this game. I hate them so much.

Francisco in, Red Sox top of the order, I'm afraid you might be right Puckluck.
Edit: love being wrong, Francisco was awesome.

Entertaining game. Nice for me to see the Sox offense try and come back from that deficit. As poor as Lackey's performance was the Jays bats were swinging and successful against almost everything today. Hopefully the Sox won't be in such a hole to start the game with Lester on the mound tomorrow and we have another exciting game to enjoy!

It looked like E5 beat the throw, but Varitek did an excellent job of blocking the plate and E5 never touched the plate before Varitek tagged him.

He actually did beat the throw. EE's right leg swung around and beat the tag.
Either way, why wasn't Thames running for EE in that scenario?

Thames was already in the game, he hit in the previous inning.
And E5 was safe, second leg got around the block before the tag.

He did beat the tag, by a mile. His right leg slid around over home plate before Varitek even bent down.

Ya after watching it again it did look like he was safe. Oh well not like it's gonna make the difference between missing and making the playoffs.

I too thought he was gonna be called safe, but haven't really studied a replay, and when it was happening I was to excited... Regardless, it was an entertaining finish.

Seeing the gif, it was closer than I thought, however that Ump was in perfect position to NOT blow that call.
Brutal.

Happens, we'll get it back. see Snider did the Ofer, hope its because of the Lefty Starter. He's running out of time to at least be contributing.

Seeing the .gif he was safe, and it seemed like the ump should have been able to tell from where he was standing... Sox got super lucky on that, but I'm sure the umps will have it in mind during today's game.

I'm still baffled there's not an expanded version of instant replay in baseball. I get giving the strike zone to umps, that's cool. But on black and white out/safe calls at the plate or the bases it makes no sense not to have it.

Snider is still really young, he is no where near "running out of time".
Jays need to be patient with a player like Snider.
