Be nice if the consumers saw some of their money refunded. Not going to happen, though.

Yeah, something like the RIAA case where customers got a free CD or a 10 dollar refund or whatever it was.

Would be nice to get a free month or two.

So bell gets hit with not being upfront with costs, yet the airlines still have free reign to do the same...

Good to know that Bell are officially liars. Good work Competition Bureau.

The thing is Bell probably takes the same reasoning as the Auto manufacturers do or did. We'll correct the cars problems if it's cheaper to correct them or if it's cheaper to pay the court settlements, we won't. Now Bell has to decide if it's financially better to pay the fines and to keep ripping off it's customers or to deal honestly and not be fined.

But Bell takes it to another level, at least that's how their Satellite TV division operates.

So in short if Bell was lying to me could I use that as ground to get out of a call phone contract? Since theoretically they breached their end of the service contract?

Most likely since they didn't act in good faith. Really have no clue how that would work, but I'd imagine they'd go down with a fight.

They'll just pass the cost of this penalty on to the users they lie to.
