Good thread idea for history nerds like me.
1944 - The craziest mofo evar was born

And for actual history, pretty slow today, but it was 4 years ago today when they found those two car bombs in Piccadilly Circus.

After a slow day yesterday, today's chalk full of historic goodness. Lots of Canadian landmarks too(in bold):
97- Hong Kong transfers sovereignty from England to China.
90- East Germany and West Germany combine economies.
87- The Loonie is born!
1934- Germany: Night of the Long Knives
1912- Regina Cyclone, still Canada's deadliest tornado (28 dead)
1886- First transcontinental train across Canada arrives in Port Moody, BC.
1520- Spanish Conquistadors led by Cortes fight their way out of Tenochtitlan(Aztec capital)

Lots of athletes bdays today too (as well as my own, very non-athletic bday). Didn't realize I shared it with so many, see if your bday tops this:
 85- Michael Phelps
 84- Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys)
 83- Marlin Jackson (Eagles)
81- Ben Utecht (Bengals, but of Colts fame)
 75- Ralph Schumacher
 66- Mike Tyson!
 65- Steve Duchesne
 62- Tony Fernandez
 44- Terry Funk (WWF)
12- Dan Reeves (former NFL coach)

I have a buddy who has the 183rd of the first vet off the line, 11,000 miles and probably worth at least 2-3 mil. due to personal circumstances he will never sell it though.

haha well done, in hindsight I shoulda put the apostraphies in. I'd change it but a combination of stubborness and straight up laziness says otherwise.
