I asked this yesterday in the weather thread and someone said the fires by RMH, which seemed believable. Someone else said Ft. Mac which seemed unbelievable, but this morning on QR, the weather people said it was indeed from the massive fire by Ft. Mac. Holy smokes!

Hopefully they will be under control soon. My eyes and allergies are killing me. Visine is going to turn a profit from my purchases this week alone.

I can't imagine what its like for those with asthma and the sort.

Visine makes it worse...

Use OTC Systane or REfresh tears.

Agreed. I lived in Red Deer that year and it was bad. Normally my asthma isn't bothered by smokey conditions, and even where I am now it's not affected but that year I must have gone through 3 inhalers.

Glayven...

That was the year that ashes actually fell around the city right? That year was brtual.

Last year the smoke was really hazy and lasted a long time. Oh well at least this week looks like summer actually unlike last year.

Yes... but they work great. You can get them cheaper at Shoppers/Co-op

Visine constricts the blood vessels in your eyes. Essentially it is like holding a garden hose shut and letting the pressure build up on the other side. When the drops wear off the blood comes rushing back in (along with the inflammatory factors). The lubricant drops flush everything out before the inflammation can begin.

So it's like a suppository for your eyes.

It's keeping me running indoors. No way I could run outside with the smoke and my asthma. Definitely a trick either way though

I just don't see how. The statellite image yesterday clearly showed the smoke was from the NW. The fort mac smoke appeared to be going south towards medicine hat.

If I could thank you twice I would!

Ran out to get a bottle of the REfresh stuff at lunch and only had to put them in once compared to the couple of times I was at with Visine already today.
